Come join Iterable. We are bringing the growth hacking tools that consumer Internet companies like Twitter/Facebook build internally to other e-businesses. Did you start an accredited Math degree? If so, how did that work for you, and how did you get into the program?

I wish a language with advanced types like Haskell or OCaml would have the same tooling and ease of distribution around it that Go does. I haven't built anything in Haskell/ML in a while, so if anyone has any updates on this please chime in.

What are the options for us after the week is up if we want to do it?

The truth and opportunity is that donating to some charities creates disproportionately more good and well being in the world than other charities, so this is a very important question. http://www.givewell.org/ is one charity evaluator that tries to answer this with in-depth analyses. I recommend them!

Email usage is changing, but the technology and capabilities haven't caught up to the 21st century. We're a small team of hackers and thinkers who are creating the next generation email optimization platform. Our team has experience at big tech companies (Twitter, Google, SIG) and we want to bring and improve the technology that powers user growth and commerce at these places to everyone. This means writing code that improves the lives of our customers (series seed and series A companies) and their millions of email subscribers.

Blah blah blah... he can harp on the lecture system all he wants, but at the end of the day you need a couple things for "success": 1) a motivated student, 2) an interested, accessible instructor.

Why do the classes you take in college HAVE to help you with your work programming? Can't you just take something because you're intellectually interested in it? Or because it has an awesome teacher, or a lecturer who is world famous, or a Nobel laureate teaching it?

As long as you're genuinely interested in what you're taking there's no reason not to take it. Not everything is about learning how to do one job that you're stuck with for the rest of your life.
