It looks like an electronic shackle offenders under house arrest get

I think in the near future we'll have deep neural nets that create and puppet an VR avatar for us, while we're sitting normally in front of our PCs. Kind of like a recursive version of a v-tuber: you pretend you're wearing a VR headset and listen to the pointless rambling during meetings, while your boss pretends that everyone is being so much more productive.

Can't say the N word in Guix

I think Guix is more than ready for providing development environments, even for proprietary apps on open source technology stacks (but Nix will probably be easier to pitch). As an operating system much less so.

Is GitHub Down? 4 years ago

Not completely down but many requests are timing out

Github uptime has been pretty bad in the last weeks.

Fascism is when the state stops blocking projects. The less projects get blocked, the more fascist it is.

And when no projects get blocked, then it's national socialism.

Right. If you want to perform a regime change, look at its historical track record in countries like... Libya, the invasion of which was called the worst mistake of his presidency by Obama.

You make it sound like the more Africans you kill, the more warmer Europe gets, which is nonsense. Last time I checked, wars only destroy.

Civilized discourse with warmongers is impossible. If you want regime change in some country thousands of miles away, go do it yourself. I am not going to send myself or my kids to die for your hubris.

Of interest is that none of the points in the "What could be done to reduce bills?" section increase the the availability of gas. The tax cuts, support packages, price freezes, etc. will result in more money chasing the same amount of energy.

If living consuming less and living simply is "absolutely a bad thing" then consuming more and living more complicated lives is absolutely a good thing.

I did not say that.

I did however imply that being unable to afford heating (or even being unable to receive heating at all) during winter is absolutely a bad thing, and that's the path Europe is headed towards. Having a high GDP per capita does not mean high environmental damage at all; in fact the opposite is true. Compare how emerging countries generate electricity with how developed countries generate electricity.
