Perl is definitely bipolar in this respect -- I've never had an easier time of dealing with Unicode issues than in Perl, but I've also never cursed Unicode so much while dealing with it in Perl.

I'm pretty sure that's on purpose (Unicode prescription 1, prescription 2, etc.). Or did my <sarcasm> tag detector mess up again?

clang does support Objective C (as does gcc).

Apple does look after a lot of plain old C (e.g. Core Foundation) and C++ (e.g. WebKit) too, so clang handles all three.

We have GitHub (social coding!) and now MITx (social learning?) I like the idea. It's like the whole point of the Internet -- bringing people together -- has reached brick and mortar.
