My wife had anti-NMDA negative Encephalitis two years ago after suffering severe seizures out of the blue - her diagnosis in retrospect is NORSE (new onset refractory status epilepticus). She was put into an induced coma for 2 months, it took a long time before they realised it was encephalitis. Whilst she survived, her recovery is still ongoing. She was 32 when it happened and will never work again due to her brain injury and ongoing epilepsy.

Profit over ethics, self-interest over communal well-being, and competition over cooperation. You're describing capitalism.
Tellefsen? I have been a fan for a while now, Chopin's favourite student I believe.
A really incredible find! It's a massive shame it was plugged with Steinway and Lang Lang, but that's the world we live in.
I would love to upgrade my ten year old Roborock running Valetudo. But I'm not sure they've been able to figure out a way to root the new machines.
I point blank refuse to have a computer on wheels with cameras and microphones roaming my house with a direct connection to China. It really blows my mind that the majority of people seem to think that's fine.
The verge cookie warning is cool. Stare at her eyes for 10 seconds, then press back.. An imaginary pink box appears.
That's almost so obvious that I never thought of that :D
I think your last two points make up most of the drivers. Particularly now many people are in an un-breakable relationship with their smartphones.
I know many people that simply don't want to entertain the "hassle" of a relationship. It's an inconvenience for them to think about somebody else other than their own immediate needs and wants.
100%, I just closed the tab straight away. No thanks.
Agree with this! It's fantastic for most things but unkind with programmer API docs!
oh wow.. had my advantage for 8 years and would never look back!
No matter whether you agree or disagree with this change (good reasons for both sides in the comments), what does it say about our society that a minute UI change on a website by a private company can potentially cause huge consequence
Agree, It's all wonderful comparing quality until you jump on a call and the stream gets throttled to 480p.
Agree completely, It's extremely jarring.
Switched 6 months ago on all devices, I actually prefer the experience, I have discovered a bunch of really interesting small independent websites and blogs through it too (wasn't that the original idea of the internet!?).
Once or twice a week I need !g to search for a programming specific query. There's still some improvement needed when searching for all the weird characters we use in software.

The irony eh!
I really agree with this - I thought it was me getting slower but every time I open finder or Dock I have to spend that split second extra effort to discern between the "Applications" folder or "HD" icons etc.
Brilliant!
Agree completely!
More creepy idealism from the team at Facebook.
Agree!
Write an unintuitive UI and then plaster it with 'hints' - great!
And where is the reference / source of this claim?
Don't know how to use Git but you're a NodeJS dev? Really?
Exactly my thoughts - what about "Unlimited FTP access" - a revolutionarily feature that lets you deploy your app as many times as you want! Sign me up.
Err can anyone spot the tests in the repo? I cannot.
Scary because that would so be the case.
