Hahaha. That is surprising! Thanks for the helpful advice.

The Rethink docs truly are incredible.
Do you have any guides or books you recommend for writing good documentation? What software did you use to produce Rethink?
Sorry to see Rethink go.
I know several engineers on my team would love that.
Thanks, that's helpful!
Love the design overall. You might consider adding some more market-position content. E.g. How do you see Hublo as different than, say, Adroll?
Agreed. Maybe something like "Ridiculously fast local faceted search" would be more appropriate?
Thanks! Hadn't seen these before.
Has anyone comparison tested Impala + EMR and Redshift?
Here's to hoping this goes through and that google can turn iProvo around!
You might add a little more definition around movie title / poster / button combinations. Once you scroll away from the top or the bottom it's not immediately apparent which belong to which unless you really look at the poster.
Any example shirts?
Way to go! Web OS always had such promise -- I hope that it can make a bigger impact now that it's been freed from the shackles of the dying Palm.
Thanks!
Thanks, I'll check it out!
Ditto. Although if I could pipe my goodreads collection into this I probably would. Why not?
Thanks! Very insightful.
Very nice. Who's the target audience for this? Students? Curious enthusiasts? Analysts within companies?
Thanks so much!
Thanks!
Anyone know if there's an easy way to get the 2010 census data all at once the way they've made the 2000 census data available? (http://www2.census.gov/census_2000/datasets)
For ease of exploring new ideas it would be super handy to be able to push it all into a hadoop cluster on aws or some such nonsense.
EDIT: Found it! Hopefully... http://www2.census.gov/census_2010/04-Summary_File_1/
Mind sharing how long you've been using it and how it compares to hadoop in your opinion? I'm very interesting in hearing your experience.
Thanks for your insightful comments! I appreciate that you took the time to back up your opinion by distilling your thoughts into something quickly digestible.
Have you heard of any other projects outside of disco that are more performant than hadoop when used for similar applications?
Anyone have some insight into situations where running map reduce on redis makes more sense than other software like the traditional hadoop?
This works remarkably well. I'm shocked.
Thank you, sir! These help a lot!
Tufte is fantastic. I've read a few of his books, and I completely agree. Thanks for the help! :)
Thanks for your thoughts and links! I especially like geckoboard, and I'm a big fan of Brian Suda. The challenge for me is definitely in the laying out of the unique data for that particular context in a visually appealing way. I guess what I'm trying to do, when you really boil it down, is assemble a toolbox of some tricks to use as starting points from a design perspective, and these are really helping.
Thanks for the link!
Cool chrome extension, dude! You might want to reconsider the music on your "save time on hacker news" video. It feels... like a sad foreign film about a mime. It's entirely possible that you meant it to be a parody of an obvious cultural reference that I'm missing, but I'm not sure this is the feeling you want associated with your project.
Has anyone used this on live software with serious traffic? I really like the concept.
