First, I'm aware of the origin of the term; but "guy" was taken so I made do. Second, you don't care, but ... I'm afraid to break the news to you but there are billions of other people on the planet today, including me. I care.
Personally, I don't like the term from my language not only because of the possible reception but also it doesn't feel right to use it.
Never did. As I said, I only recently became aware of the fact myself. I just say that it won't give me a good first impression of the people calling me that if I'm aware of the meaning. And by the way, your first contact with the term could come with our local brew of (supremac|national|fasc|rac)ists, who are quite fond of it and afterwards you will get off thinking everyone using the term has a beef with you (again I'm assuming, never discussed it with anyone concerned, you could say I'm imagining it).
I understand that all the controversies of the past years put you on the defensive (e.g. the whole thing with Github repo default branches being renamed from "master" to "main", etc), but I think that this is the kind of issue we should try to find a balance on, instead of just throwing out the baby with the bath water.
My native language is Ewe. The words we usually use for caucasian people is "yo vo".It's an evolution of an archaic pronunciation used today by only a few, "ye vu", and it was brought to my attention recently that it means "cunning dog".Ye=cunning, Vu=dog.
Explanation: we kinda didn't start on a good footing with the Germans back in the day ... So today most people will call every white person "cunning dog" without even knowing or meaning harm because the dialect has evolved. On one hand, for most people, it's just a random word with no insulting connotation; you try to make them switch to some another term, you're crazy dumb woke etc. On the other hand, I know I would take offense in being called that even if I'm told the word's lost the original meaning a long time ago.
Personally I don't know where the middle ground should be. But some "retroactive policing of language" is definitely needed. It may seem mundane to you, but sometimes these kind of things can be unsavory to other people. With globalization, it's not you and your pals anymore ...

I think having Haskell bindings to it will be quite valuable .For implementation of core structures, though, it's better to stick to C++ to max out on performance and have a finer control on resource usage. Haskell isn't particularly good at that.

What do you think about a feature that allows users to follow each other ? The websites followed by one user can be automatically included in the search results of his followers. It will enable people to include in their networks the websites followed, for example, by authorities in their domain, members of their communities, etc

The problem I've faced with self-learning CS have never been a lack of resource. Skills plateauing for almost a year. I just have troubles keeping on track. Mentorship or some kind of support will be more helpful ...
Nobody is talking about the proof, but about the fact that the person who produced it was younger than them and they are trying to explain the achievement by innate abilities or parent influence. The fact is just that most of people don't want to do something like that. They just want to be someone who do things like that.
- Have time frames when you pursue your passion in only one specific filed. For example you can decide to learn music on Sunday and keep on physics and other things for the rest of the week and never modify this habit whatever happens - Finish what you start: It makes things worse to pile up mediocre skills and unfinished projects so start one (small) thing, finish it and go to the next.
Generally, you need very good organization system and very strict rules of living if you want to get to expert level in you field. By the way, I find your field very interesting. Do you have a blog, or something like that ?

Most of the people don't see it either. But it is so cool to see that you're enlightened so ... :-) Joke aside, the part of Lisp that impressed me the most was it simplicity. Anybody can write a Lisp in a few hours but the language is as powerful as any modern language if not more. It is the perfect illustrations for programmers definition of cute: do a lot, with very few.

This is a global phenomenon ... Almost any teenager or persons in their early twenties have a similar life. Maybe engage in an organisation where you simply cannot live like that (the army, etc) for a while ?
And here we are, wasting time to write for the n-th time 'if feel the same". Someone even write it's refreshing ...
