Meanwhile, people with no scientific training are entrusted to run A/B tests and other web experiments.

Practically all web marketing experiments and analysis is invalid, and not replicable. But it pays the bills for everyone to pretend its legitimate.

Is Web3 Bullshit? 5 years ago

Yes. Metaverse also.

The phrase "social media" has become passé and even toxic.

The language around BTC & Crypto have political & other baggage.

Web3 is an attempt to re-package the past 10-15 years of web trends in a hip new label that leaves behind the baggage and allows for the appearance of "new stuff happening". But nothing much new is happening.

Depends on the country. In a place like India or Mexico, people everywhere are doing things every day that would make headlines in the US.

An entire family of 4 riding on a single motorcycle without helmets in heavy traffic? Normal in India. Would generate new for weeks if done in the USA, parents would be arrested for child abuse.

Strongly disagree. Recently took a graduate level database management course, and using Instructure was one of the hardest parts of the course. Poor information flow, too many places to have to check for notifications, tasks, and basic information.

Seeking Freelancer | BMC | Part-time | Remote

BMC has a number of websites, these are the main ones: https://www.bmc.com/ (AEM) https://www.bmc.com/blogs/ (WordPress) http://communities.bmc.com/ (Jive)

I'm looking for a person to help improve our website UX/UI, improve on our consistency of patterns and elements, help design A/B tests and experiments, and that sort of thing. Our DevOps team handles implementation and most coding.

Probably 20 hrs per week, 6 month contract to start, and see how the role grows.

Yes this is true. Google will rank web pages, based on the inbound links pointing to the page, even if Google hasn't crawled the page itself.

This happens regularly when a web page is blocked from crawling via Robots.txt file. Google still indexes and ranks the page, but Google has no idea what is on the page.

Want to keep a web page out of rankings? Allow Google to crawl it (by not restricting via robots.txt), but use a NoIndex meta tag or X-Robots-Tag HTTP header to indicate that the page should not appear in search results.
