This is the cause. With a long dormant account, facebook has no real content to show you. Your friends will almost all be dormant as well, even the facebook pages and groups you were part of are likely to have fallen silent. Facebook will feed you directly from the slop firehose rather than show you a blank feed.

And it's true, Israel is not required to accept aid from other countries for Gaza. They could instead provide the full required resources for civilians in the occupied areas themselves.

It's pretty disappointing that the author (writing in 2025) says "perhaps to maintain its status as the world’s largest botnet operator," and links to a Spamhaus report from Q1 of 2020.[0]
If you check the most recent version of the report from Spamhaus (Jan to June 2025)[1], Cloudflare is nowhere to be seen, and Digital Ocean, who they recommend as a Cloudflare alternative is listed as third largest botnet host in the world.
Looking back through the historical reports this isn't a new phenomenon, in Q4 of 2022 Digital Ocean was ranked #2 and Cloudflare was down at #17.

Having to call/visit and social engineer an employee is an order of magnitude more work than just logging in with stolen credentials, which can be entirely automated. SMS 2FA is valuable when it can prevent credential stuffing attacks. It's a vulnerability when it can be used to reset passwords and recover accounts.

It's an anti abuse method. A valid phone number will always have a cost for spammers/multi accounters to obtain in mass, but will have no cost for the desired user base (the assumption is that every worthwhile user already has a phone).
Captchas are trivially broken and you can get access to millions of residential IP addresses, but phone numbers (especially if you filter out VOIP providers) still have a cost.

In Singapore, most people typically purchase new vehicles through dealers. Dealers will collect orders from customers and participate in the COE bidding on behalf of their customers.
Supply and demand set the price for COE, which regulates demand. When COE prices are high, vehicle prices, as quoted by dealers, will have to increase, reducing demand. When COE prices are lower, dealers can afford to reduce prices if they want to, which will increase demand.

The "money laundering" at focus in the article is receiving money directly from people who are being scammed, and moving it quickly enough that the police cannot freeze or recover it when the scam is discovered. That's different from usual money laundering.
The assumption has been that Telegram provided significantly more access to Russia years ago, as it remains unblocked (with channels even run by the government), and Pavel Durov wasn't arrested when he visited Russia after laws were passed that would apply to Telegram but he claims they were refusing to follow.

When I see out of band management at remote locations (usually for a dedicated doctors network run by the health authority that gets deployed at offices and clinics) it's generally analog phone line -> modem -> console port. Dialup is more than enough if all you need to do is reset a router config.
Not 100% out of band for a telco though, unless they made sure to use a competitors lines.
