Yes you're right. It's that most programmers are so identified with the code, that now with AI they feel their whole identity is stolen, while indeed, being a developer is more than just coding, people!

None of what you say is characteristic of "the right" either. But the things I'm pointing out prove the points I'm making. Please try to understand. There's corruption everywhere, don't be deceived by the idea that it's not in "your camp".

Ok, so you're basically saying that the AI-generated code does it's job, but when you actually review it you think the way it does it's job is not as it should, and if you get into that flow, your agentic productivity goes down?

Well I think the reasoning of coding agents on lower levels is good enough for me that I don't have to constantly be involved with it, only occasionally have to dive in and help out.

- Companies hypocritically implementing DEI and other woke hypes, doing all the marketing but internally don't actually change

There's probably a lot of truly ethical left people, but there are obviously also very corrupt people that exploit these things. The right would argue that they at least try to do things in a moral way. You have to draw a line somewhere, you have to have limits, but also personal rights.

I think it's good that we have both sides, because only one will get things out of balance and make it very easy for corruption to sneak in.

The right would tell you the left's ethicality is often fake and corrupt, and the right at least tries to be moral. There's something to that, but I think there's corruption on both sides, and they try to solve things in different ways, which both have their up and down sides. The right can seem harsh compared to the softness of the left, but the left can seem weak compared to the right's decisiveness.

But ultimately you got into this craft to solve a problem. That is how the craft developed. And when you build a very complex elaborate system, it can still have interesting technical challenges, even for a developer with AI. You should shift your technical insight to a higher abstraction level, where the AI cannot help anymore.

But when you are familiar with the jargon, you can unpack the sentences in your mind. And like that, you need less text to read and write prompts. So less reading, writing, and tokens!

Sure you can self-host all of it also, but people like to pay for not having to do that.

This reminds me of the Missing Dollar Riddle [1], where the listener is deliberately put on a wrong thinking path, to fool it.

With your own logical thinking you might never come to this confusion, and if you never heard this riddle before, you might be tricked by it.

But as we grow in life, and get experience, we learn about these riddles and aren't fooled as easily anymore.

Maybe it'll work like that for LLMs too?

Nazi is the terminology you chose for referring to past Grok issues. Woke is the terminology I used to refer to past Gemini issues.

Regardless of the terminology, I think we should look at the issues themselves, and not mindlessly apply a certain ideaology upon a company for certain past issues.

In short: maybe xAI aren't the nazi's you seem to think they are, and maybe this woke movement that you seem to adore isn't as innocent as they make themselves out to be.

I haven't equated them, I've used them as examples of opposite extremes.

I think Nazism is extreme right, and wokeism is extreme left. It's both out of balance. And Google and xAI both acknowledged that, and addressed the problems.

You said Nazism is being accepted like other political movements. But nobody (in this thread) ever said something like that.
