I used to drive for five years (2015-2020) a 2009 naturally aspirated petrol Jaguar XF and it had zero issues except a single vacuum hose leak during my 100 000 kilometers (from 120 000 to 220 000) or so. The original rear upper wishbone arms were replaced and no more than expected normal wear & tear brake part replacements were needed. I still sometimes think that I'd like to have one again because in my opinion it was a quite nice and comfortable ride and turned out to be very good value as a used vehicle!

Maybe I had some kind of exception or are there dramatic differences between models and engines?

I’m not well versed enough on this but wouldn’t it be a problem with custom training that the specific project training codebases probably would likely have a lot of the implemented stuff, relevant for the domain, only once and in one way, compared to how the todays popular large models have been trained maybe with countless different ways to use common libraries for whatever various tasks with whatever Github ripped material fed in?

Seems pretty normal amount from many western countries / EU perspective though. A quite standard 30 days paid time off could go like:

- Christmas to New year off (~3-5 days PTO + public holidays paid)

- Winter holiday in Feb/March (5 days PTO)

- Maybe a week off around Easter or Ascension day (4 days PTO + public holiday paid)

- 3 weeks off in the summer (15 days PTO)

- A long weekend in the autumn (1 day PTO) or a week if you didn't take a week off in the spring

-> 30 days PTO total

Learn scales. When you understand and know the scale of the song you can quickly start improvising then.

DaVinci Resolve free version should provide enough functionality and powerful features for even most professional work! DaVinci is a product I'll happily promote. I feel that the software somehow flies "too much under the radar": if you don't know where to look for and seek free video editing software, you end up easily in a swamp of terrible freemium software even when DaVinci Resolve is easily available.

Materialized views are also nice for many modern DW applications where you don't live in legacy "once in a hour/day/week" ELT/ETL environment, but more in a real timeish or micro batch world. You can have data marts / reporting tables composed with these materialized views over many kinds of underlying DW models. Just dropping this to promote the Materialized View functionality :)

Quickly this looks like something similar to Azure Logic Apps - you probably know about it too. Why should I use Paragon instead of Logic Apps? Educate me! :)

I dont remember what is the requirement in my part of Europe (maybe there is a EU standard?) for free range chickens, but anyway: many years ago a close family friend wanted to start producing free range eggs on his farm. There was a huuuge area (to meet the requirements) fenced that the chickens were free to use, but still very rarely any chicken walked over 15 meters away from their shelter.

I've made around 50 reservations in last couple of years through them and I really like it for the uniform experience across chains, cities and countries. They've been helpful and I've never run and into actual problems. I also probably ignore their dark patterns subconsciously.. I dont have proper incentives to try other platforms, agoda, trivago etc. seem worse (without trying).

I interview people quite often for data engineer positions where good knowledge of SQL is also required and I'll usually have the applicant give me a presentation of some system or data pipeline that they have worked on earlier (any possible business or client secrets can of course be obfuscated or omitted). I'll ask questions about that system or process "like I'm 12 years old" and then I'll make up on the fly some kind of problem statement that I would like to have this and this kind of results from the data - how would you do it? Very often I include problems that would be easily solvable with window functions and more often than not those who know them get hired :)

Culture, entertainment, motivation, thrill and experiences also for the spectators. It is well known that people around the world have enjoyed also watching sports for thousands of years. But as mentioned in another comment, only the very best make any real money from being an athlete.

Microsoft has PowerBI which is already almost magic for many business users with it's ease of connectability with different databases and SaaS services. Transformations, parsing, mixing data from different sources and reporting capabilities are also easy to start with and quite powerful in the right hands. It's not integrated into Excel directly but sits quite well imho in the MS ecosystem.

I believe in this and also that the overall cumulative amount of activity really makes the difference. A while ago we met with couple of childhood friends and even though none of us are really sedentary it was obvious that one of the guys in our group was in seemingly excellent physical condition. We discussed about this and he wasn't involved in any actual sports hobby or nutritional diet but lives in a small town with his wife and two dogs, works in a industrial production plant and turned out that his average daily step count over the last year or so with his current phone was something between 15 000 - 20 000 steps per day without even trying. Those of us who live in a city doing office work and mostly trying to hit the gym couple of times per week clocked in around 6000-7000 steps per day on average. That difference must add up somewhere!

Do you think that those companies would exist in their current form without the consumers (/the actual population) buying stuff made by those companies?

Some very quick thoughts.. Have something to resemble the event series as a single instance - then have 1...n relation to actual occurrences for occasions when there has been a change, added notes or cancellation. These should be created when the change/added notes/etc. are made.

Oh my god.. So you really think that a totalitarian control over what the country's population is allowed to view on the Internet is somehow a good thing and a way to stop brain drain? How come other countries manage to have their cultures flourish on the age of the Internet? I just can't see this kind of blocking bringing anything good for Russia..

Same idea applies for many words or names where the cyrillic characters have close resemblance with some other latin characters ("Hatawa is a popular russian/slavic girl's name" - of course properly it should be translittered as Natasha...)

Almost the same goes for the word Restaurant. Everywhere in the world it's almost the same - except in Russia it is pectopah! :)

I don’t probably know WTF is a PIZZA (even a large one), that is worth it, at over $/€ 15-20... seems like we need a new big mac index! Is a $30+ pizza reality?

I think that trained athletes actually know better of their limits and when to not push for the maximum intensity than “regular office worker” in their corresponding field. The fatigue and risks of near future subpar performance are more concrete than with office work.

Also in any field, it ofcourse requires time, work and experience to become actually good enough to give yourself some slack.

To explain a bit further, I feel that this approach also makes you more ready for promotions and working with new people/industries/tech. To me it seems that people who worked their ass off and received a promotion “as a reward for their hard work” seem more prone to burnout later on with more responsibilities. We can be better than that - don’t get promoted for hard work, get promoted for SMART work!
