Sports are contests of arbitrary skills, that on the highest level require time intensive and expensive commitment since basically childhood, and whatever method you choose to measure scholastic performance with it's never going to be free of class/geographic/cultural factors.

For many devices it wouldn't be "pain in the ass", it would be straight up impossible. There are millions of devices, like smart TVs, that are out of support and don't receive updates, substantially changing API would break them. It might happen at some point, but it would piss off many people.

Well, update process taking couple of days is it's own kind of nightmare.
And it wasn't my personal machine so it would've been unreasonable for me to do so.
I did 16.04 to 20.04 through 18.04 and it was a nightmare, it would've been faster to do fresh install.
I feel like there might be something different or subtler at play here. I do not get spooked by scary tales, and I have never enjoyed them. But I have perfectly good visualization skills, I can "see" with my minds eye, both recalling my memories or imagining something, same goes for other senses and feelings; I can and do relate to sad/funny/inspiring etc stories, but for some reason spooky stories never clicked with me.

AWS is nowhere near big enough to be treated as utility, there are heaps of alternatives, big cloud providers (Azure, GCP, Oracle), hundreds of smaller cloud hosts, then there is self-hosting. What should be treated as utility is tier 1 networks, and I haven't heard about Level 3 or AT&T refusing to carry someones traffic.
I'd wager that DDG results are skewed towards tech, since it's mostly tech people who use it.

I think Twitter might be throttling anonymous/not logged in users. On desktop, where I'm logged in I've never had an issue with retrieving content, on mobile, where I'm not, no matter the browser, it's hit or miss (I'd estimate around 30% of the time I need to refresh)

IMO the best way to control Apple devices is KB + mouse + magic trackpad. Mouse is of course superior for precise movement such as highlighting text, but the trackpad itself is worth it just for the gestures.
