That is correct! There is no annotation of which apps a packet comes from, so VineWall also runs locally a DNS proxy and uses the domain to infer the app

The short interview time helps keeping the interview process focused on high signal questions/discussions. That is better than a 1h where 1/3 of the process is a bunch of soft balls.

I’m working on VineWall (https://vinewallapp.com), a network tunnel that helps you fight doomscrolling by making your internet slower when it detects you spent too much time scrolling.

At this moment I’m working on improving the logic that decides when/how much to throttle the network.

What I like it most is how "unoriginal" the result is. It is mostly the current trends, but in the future, rather than a blend of that + unknown future.

Unity was never profitable and was always dependent on vc money.

For sure it's a great product, but the truth is that it was subsidized by vc capital and is not a sustainable business

Last year I created a prototype of something very similar, the key difference was that the idea was to auto pre screen recruiters instead of ask for pay.

I gave them to the staff. They seem happy with the donation and even asked if I wanted to receipt to use for taxes purposes, which I declined.

I used to donate them to my local library because I thought they would know best what is worth to keep and what to throw away.

Around 7-8 months ago I was interviewing with many startups and no one asked me for a NDA.

The only exception was a company that asked me to sign a NDA just for an informal chat. Normally I don't mind a simple NDA, but this company NDA was VERY draconic, it was pretty much full non compete rather than the typical "dont leak your interview questions, dont spy on us". Obviously I refused to sign the NDA and stopped my conversations with this company.

It was because (at least 2009) there was more position that people applying. That is how I got my H1B.
