The medical system is really messed up. I would love to eventually get my PPL, but I also highly suspect that I have undiagnosed ADHD, and I don't want to essentially sign away my right to ever get treatment. I don't really plan on retiring. I'm saving for it, since I'm in my mid-20s and a lot can change over time, but knowing what I know about myself right now, I can't imagine that I would enjoy retirement. I need something to work for, but I've always struggled to motivate myself to work on things without outside influence. I've found that MSFS works much better when you turn off all the "fun" stuff and use add-on aircraft. I enjoy flying Airbus planes, so using mods like FlyByWire (free) and Fenix (paid) can drastically improve the experience since the built-in A320neo is pretty barebones. Those mods can also load flight plans straight from SimBrief so I avoid ever using the built-in flight planner. I just load up at the gate with an empty flight plan, load in my real plan from SimBrief, and pretend I'm flying a real A320.

I think a better way of saying this is that "nerds" (i.e. power users, the type of people typically on HN) want different things out of their UI/UX than the average user. That's the beauty of having different solutions to choose from: the power user is free to use something like KeePass, where it's not as easy to use, but you can set it up exactly the way you like; and the "normal" user can go with something like 1P or LastPass for more of a "set it and forget it" model. The average user doesn't care one bit about the things that you mentioned.

It has to be software. I have a ThinkPad that I recently installed macOS on (not advocating hackintosh, but it's a fun project nonetheless) and the trackpad feels every bit as good as a real Mac. Smooth scrolling, smooth gesture recognition, everything just feels good. The hardware is capable of processing the gestures, but the non-Apple software just does a terrible job of making it feel good to use.

I've been using Win10 on multiple machines since release day and I have never once seen a forced restart. That was a problem on Windows 7, but I honestly don't know how people are still having this problem with 10.

What did they do to butcher them in your opinion? I just recently picked up a new X390 and it's a great machine for the price, with better specs in just about every area than a Macbook for half the price. Only thing I would improve is the screen, 1080p doesn't cut it these days.

I just wish console games supported keyboard/mouse controls. Playing FPS games on a controller is painful.

I can't wait to go back to the office since I'm not able to stay nearly as productive at home. I work with hardware, so not having all my equipment right next to me on my desk has been a bit of a roadblock. I don't necessarily disagree with your overall sentiment here, but I always feel the need to point out that this is a really bad example of a frivolous lawsuit. That lady's car didn't have cupholders, which was pretty common on '90s cars, and the coffee was hot enough to fuse her labia together. You can look up pictures; it wasn't pretty. She also only sued for medical damages and nothing more, if I remember correctly.

Plus Zenni has more "normal" styles of glasses that you don't need a beard and 6-inch-tall haircut to pull off.
