I agree. Four years ago I dove deeply into blockchain and token models for a marketplace project I was working on and failed to find any startups or initiatives that looked anything like a customer facing product or platform. Four years on and nothing has changed. Still no case studies, no success stories.

Changing the 'birth' date of a Twitter account to anything less than 13 years old results in the account be immediately locked without warning and without a mechanism to reset. This is obviously an age consent control but the undo has disappeared.

Lots of posts complaining about this to the Twitter support account. Especially problematic for a brand or organization account younger than 13 years. Ironically @twittersupport was born in March 2021, so they seem to have slipped themselves through the net!

Yes, the prepaid visa is something we've looked at although the payments to users are recurring so we really want time to be able to store ongoing payments as a balance and then transfer to their own bank account whenever they want.

It sounds to me as if you need gift yourself some mental time off. You're clearly an entrepreneur, so I'd caution against getting a job, but you've not had a follow up hit and may have lost a little confidence in yourself and can't see the joy in trying to build something new.

You're in a fortunate position financially so I suggest you use that freedom to detach and replenish. Ask yourself, if I allow myself to do absolutely anything (or nothing) for the next 6 months what would it be? That's a pretty exciting thought right? Not only will you break the cycle of intellectualizing your situation, the process of self-permission will open up new ways of getting out of these ruts in the future.

If it were me, I'd switch off every device and read the Guardian's 100 best novels of all time.

Nothing to add on the marketing side, but for company setup and admin:

The charging infrastructure in the UK is limited so this is welcome, although really just table stakes.

Core problem to solve is that a high percentage of the housing stock in the UK is terraced housing with no off-street parking and no reserved spaces out front so nowhere to reliably site a charging point.

In 10 years we'll look back on these kind of discussions and laugh. The idea that human productivity is a corollary to office 'presence' is now absurd. Industrial centralization was arguably economically and socially necessary for 200+ years (especially when the alternative was serfdom) but this isn't the 18th century anymore.

Large cities made successful by centralization have become logistically hellish and expensive. It's become largely illogical to live in one.

Hybrid is a fudge and will be as burdensome for employees as it will be inefficient for their employers. Those that have hybrid forced on them will have to get used to endless scheduling admin "...is Ted in today? Has anyone seen Ted?". And in a split '2 days out' v '3 days in model' it's be hugely wasteful to have offices empty 4 days per week per person.

Companies insisting on in-person or hybrid have a dependency on their local job market. Two potentially terminal pressures with this: their local market will atrophy as the most marketable people choose to work remote roles. And they'll be disadvantaged against remote-only competitors recruiting the best and most cost effective talent around the world.

I'm a brain.fm fan too. It blocks out the internal monologue and, like you say, is surprisingly effective at entering a flow state. I'm a fan of free jazz and I've found it has a similar dissonant effect. Ornette Coleman is a great place to start.

Gathersight is building a new type of network for knowledge discovery. We're hoping to launch a public beta version of the product in Q1 next year and are interested in hearing from experienced freelancers or contractors that can make a significant contribution to our project.

The initial team comprises myself and one other person, a machine learning engineer. To date we have concentrated on developing a classification and data capture model, but now we want to broaden the project team and get building. We're looking for an experienced, full-stack developer to take a leading role in the creation of the first version. I'm a non-technical founder so there is plenty of scope to influence technical and product decisions.

Ideally, we're looking for the following attributes:

- plenty of experience and happiness building in React, Typescript, Node, PostgreSQL/MongoDB environments

- an all rounder, happy to contribute to UI, UX and infrastructure decisions

- bring ideas and solutions to improve the product

- open-minded/interested in establishing a long-term relationship with a new product
