Please quit judging upward. How many thousands of years have geniuses been hounded by those with smaller brains? How many great sorcerers, magicians, electricians and plumbers have been lost because of this thing where people think they have the right to speak confidently and negatively of men who are of higher caliber?

Maybe geniuses are kooky because of how outnumbered they are by irrational people? Or something else like that.

I don't like to defend a jerk anymore than the next person but I can play the devil's advocate here.

If he's a 10x developer he's going to be a genius. A genius is a person who sees the world in shades of grays. He can't help it. If he's of that caliber then it's built into how his brain works. The comment about him being both a 10x developer and someone who sees in black and white is generally off. However, if he's looking at the work of an average person or even just an above-average person, he will ten to be able to see stronger shades of grays than other people because of his high aptitude. This is possibly why he appears to be someone who sees in black and white.

Overall the author of the article borders on anti-intellectualism... which can easily veer over to anti-semitism.... the frequent opponent of Linus Torvalds.

The artifacts left in the ground will be around longer than the one put through your laboratory. The one left in the ground will be around for thousands of years. The one brought into your lab will be around for hundreds of years or less.

What you say is only so certain. You dont seem as quick to innovate as others. Why not put a building on top of it and add to its shelter? Everyone will react poorly to eminent domain. So what? Think about the variables.

If we use imaging equipment we can somehow learn more by using more spatial reasoning. Then you can make more.

That sounds kind of ridiculous. Why dont they just leave it in the ground and take pictures of it?

Somehow people could change the internet to suit this project to fix everything. Single files of jquery on disparate servers that connect to one frontend could transform the web and undo the big problems.

I am generalizing for the people who don't have families because they see Germany being handed over to foreigners in the future. You do not agree with my opinion? That is fine.

But it is not xenophobic to say that people want to keep German families German. Did you know that China has less than a million immigrants in the entire country? Maybe it is time you respect your people, too. Your group of 4 sounds like some xenophile party.

With this article we have the sexual relations of Germans strewn about and we are expected to just sit back and let the whole world morph the demographics of a nation they aren't a part of. I don't agree with it.

Lets be honest.. the multi-cultural society brought on by leftists and feminists and foreigners leads people to give up on the future of their culture. These people don't want families with non-Germans and they don't want Germany to be non-German, but they are occupied by foreign cultures and they can't do anything to change it.

After reading this from pg today and your comment here, I'll again suggest considering a change to your logo to a young female hacker or a male/female hacker pair and changing your name to NY Hacker Apprenticeship. Role model, balance, etc, etc. Possibly we can then have many Apprenticeship programs across the US, a useful but long gone part of our economy as people. The needs of role models are fulfilled, and the equality debate can be put in its place by making the political stance clear at the front door.

It's kind of like a matter of forcing acquiescence versus offering traditional dignification to the eventual employer. I cant really say I take a side.

To whoever downvoted this, their name right now is Hacker School (commonly politically correct, male "Apprenticeship" terminology avoidance) and the symbol is of a computer (commonly politically correct, neutral/male symbolism).

"NY Hacker Apprenticeship w/ a young female hacker as the mascot" would essentially flip it around, where the Apprenticeship term is used (its an old world male symbol, lets get over the passive aggressiveness) and a modern symbol of equality is used (a female hacker, yes there is political tension over this as we all know, lets get over the passive-aggressiveness)

Yes it was light-hearted because that is essentially two politically provoking things from the wrong vantage point; but sometimes two things which are politically diverging can cancel each other out with the right dose of comedy, fun, and respect.

One could take it plenty of other directions, but I thought it would be cool. Maybe "Hacker School" wants to avoid the political scene altogether out of self preservation, maybe they'll downvote me and take my ideas anyways, or maybe they'll just downvote me and dislike me, who knows?

I didn't imply that it would be easy to understand the political atmosphere of the group, or that finding the words would be easy. From a different perspective it is essentially the same thing as asking everyone with a formal/informal survey, or observing the common phrases used. It could be done many different ways.

So after being reminded of this, they should just call it the NY Hacker Apprenticeship and have their logo be a young female hacker. Too good?

Calling the whole thing an apprenticeship is humbling, as there are obviously journeymen/fellows and masters involved which would be given titles according to merit as you said.

Yeah, but work meant ascholia in Greek, which is the opposite of schole, and at an Apprenticeship you are possibly lectured at your leisure, but you are also working, so the term scholar fails in this regard.

You are describing positions of leadership -- a leader doesn't need to communicate downwards (with their title) to the street gangs or to the patients. They are going to lead those people, so it is unnecessary.

The people from hacker school are going to be lead, and mostly not hired straight into a position of leadership, so it is necessary to communicate to the leaders-to-be a title which communicates well what that person has been up to, because everything that person does will be taken into account by that leader-to-be, and more closely inspected than the gang member or patient will inspect the title of the person helping them.

    It seems, then, that thinking about time has the opposite effect on people from thinking about money. It makes them more honest than normal, rather than less so. Moreover, the more reflective they are, the more honest they become. 

    There must be an aphorism in that.
