https://approval.vote / https://ranked.vote Both svelteJS static apps that render approval voting and ranked choice voting elections.
I got frustrated on how difficult it is to compare many elections using alternative voting methods against each other, so ended up extending a friends project, adding more results, details and statistics.
Just added datasette lite to the approval voting site. it’s pretty cool to query the SQLite db in the browser. https://approval.vote/data
Yoto doesn’t keep the audio on the cards, all the audio is stored on the cloud and the NFC cards just have a link to the album. The Yoto can’t play a card it hasn’t already seen before without connecting to the Wi-Fi and downloading it.
Already done. Switzerland is a civilised country.

This is the sixth ever election in the United States using Approval Voting, and the first ever approval voting election where we have the Cast Vote Records from the election. These records reveal fascinating details on St. Louis voters’ preferences.

Or lastly they’re on a different planet with higher gravity.
Stroking a Labrador is one of life’s few pleasures.
Thanks for recommending it! I’ve had the same issues with Anki and am shocked there aren’t more clones considering it’s open source. Excited to try remnote.
Now is there anything which will take this, run it through ML and then find a date for all of my scanned family photos?
It’s Mission Dolores
The economist is a good start. Read monthly or weekly periodicals.
I have a library subscription which comes with PressReader. I get all the magazines and periodicals and I don’t pay anything. It’s my right as a taxpayer and I get to be an informed citizen.

If people are still renting the apartments, and the vacancy rates aren’t going up, (which in the United States, they’re not), then no, one company isn’t driving rents up.
We’re just not building enough housing.

The stigma around people with ADHD taking the medication that they are legally prescribed is toxic. And it’s not your fault.
Watch videos by “how to ADHD” Get involved in the ADHD community. Psychiatrist should also help you provide some resources. There’s a strong psychological component to dealing with a stigma around ADHD, the self loathing. ADHD often co-morbid with anxiety and depression.
Stimulant medication can help with all of these. If anything try it for a month, then stop using it, and see which world you like better.
Personally, I take stimulant medication not so I’m better at work, but so that I have the energy to be a good dad and husband after I’ve already used all of my energy, trying to be a good employee. It really helps.
Articles like this are supremely annoying. The devastating effect is caused by the fact that they aren’t building enough housing. The problem is not the demand for housing, it’s the supply.
Don’t blame Airbnb when you refuse to build enough housing, the markets going to figure out how to market.
It says a lot that you evaluate traffic deaths as “crime”
It’s very simple, that’s what the government should fund. That’s what our tax should pay for. If you really want to manifesto, then just read about land value taxes, don’t tax anything except what we want to disincentivize and land, which doesn’t distort the market. But this is entirely off-topic for this thread.
In your example, I take it Dawkins is the atheist and Trans people are “forcing him to pray” ?
I think the analogy is better said that Trans allies think it’s rude to yell in people’s faces that god doesn’t exist (which is exactly what Dawkins does, so points for consistency).
There’s no personal obligation on what you believe, just don’t be a jerk and tell people that they can’t exist.
That’s what the entire article is about. Trans people: “Please don’t be rude to me. This is how you can be nice” Dawkins: “My being rude to you isn’t the same as violence.” Trans people: “Ok… why would you feel the need to say that unless you wanted to be violent to us?” Dawkins: “You’re calling me violent! That’s policing my speech which is oppression!”
But shouldn’t we just indulge the harmless whims of an oppressed minority? Maybe, were it not for a strain of aggressive bossiness which insists, not so very harmlessly and not sounding very oppressed, that the rest of us must humour those whims and join in.
Goodness, what a whine. If you’re not a person who is directly confronted with this, why are you throwing yourself into this debate? The only reason to enforce your idea of a person’s gender over their own view of it is because you’re a jerk. It’s that simple. Stop being a jerk.
Shocked you’d say that. Where did you live? Brooklyn and queens are underserved and car brained, but manhattan’s train service is a dream. Yes the MTA needs more budget for infrastructure and renovations but could you imagine if every person who took transit were driving, and needed a place to park in Manhattan? The upcoming congestion charge is a great way to make private the public costs of cars, and I hope that we manage to fully internalize driving’s externalities with tolls taxes and congestion charges, which can provide enough general funds for robust public transportation.
Could you ELI5? I was just looking into this question but I’m not familiar with the various medical examinations. What are the differences between regular, special and basic?
I think you’d really like the Dygma Raise. https://dygma.com/ It sounds like what you’ve described. My daily driver is RGBKB Sol3 and I love it more than a person should love a keyboard. https://www.rgbkb.net/products/sol-3-keyboard-prebuilt I went deep on keyboards but didn’t go the super minimalist route that I see get posted often. I type at 120wpm+ on QWERTY so “typing faster” was never the issue, just wanted to minimize pain.
I recently been going through all of my family photos. A lot of them are scanned and undated. I’ve been looking for some kind of machine learning library that will allow me to automatically date them. Approximates are fine, but an algorithm would do better than I would. Even just grouping photos of similar film stock and scene would be useful as they’re all completely jumbled. Does anyone know if there’s anything like that?
I'm the Chair of the Board of CES. AMA.
This is really troubling - and the staff has been away trying to get some relaxation during the winter break, but if there's any message I can put out there it's this. Support the Center for Election Science. Funding, volunteering, advocacy. We exist because there's a simpler, easier to implement reform that doesn't suffer from these issues.
We see too many places that have adopted RCV and then reverted back to the old system. The main restriction on what we're able to achieve is our limited budget. We've got some massive campaigns in the pipeline, but our ability to execute on them will depend on having enough funding for staff and campaigning.
The main reason I joined Center for Election Science in the first place was because I felt it was the best bang for the buck reform. Voting reform doesn't just elect the democratically selected candidate, it also elects higher quality candidates. This means we get better, more nuanced policies, less flip flopping, and politics becomes boring - because everything _just works_.
