I'm interested in the subject but I've never heard about someone actually using Skip. Can someone share his experience, like how long it takes to get an Android app from a working iOS project. What kind of work is needed here?

To me it sounds like someone is trying to create a problem and sell it to me. Who needs to create images with proof of reality?

I agree that to succeed RSS must be properly managed right in the browser. The problem is that it was not properly implemented inside Firefox, so I personaly didn't want to use that system.

What I want is a simple counter that show how many new posts there are of the RSS, and that's it. I only click for new content.

I've created an app to quickly launch timers on my iPhone. I frequently use timers during my day: for tea, naps and for my morning routine, so constantly changing the duration on the default app became a pain. I created Enchant to be able to launch timers using iOS widgets or Siri, and it's really fast and fun to use :)

In France a small startup named Cohome has tested the concept several years ago. It unfortunately didn't last long but the idea is great. I've had the chance to use it and it was very nice. The issue is that freelancers can't pay much on these kind of services as they often have limited means. The other issue I believe is that there are more people willing to go to someone's place than people willing to share their place.

What we need to revive RSS is have a true integration into browsers. Your bookmarks would display the numbers of unread posts and there is probably more great stuff to do.

And more complexity in laws and many more things increases inequalities in our society. The more stuff (i.e. laws) the more you need people (lawyers) to understand them, the more intelligent people you also need (i.e. cryptos). All this creating a larger gap between social classes.

Let's go back to the old glory of RSS.

I was so frustated to see Facebook/Twitter using the fundamentals of RSS to their advantage whereas everybody should have started to use RSS for the greater good.

I've became so used to ignore useless stuff on pages that I sometimes don't even know what I came for originally. The modern web makes me totally mindless.

There are many alternatives available for Google products but you gotta to look for them and take time to switch, it sure ain't easy but we gotta do it.

Guys, we're all frequent readers of HN here and it's pretty clear Google is not a company that we can trust. Data privacy, product stoppage, advertisement collusion, their search engine becoming an ad engine, obsolescence, monopoly, we're talking about a company that collects huge fines every 6 months. There is nothing good in Google World, so please, let's all change the world together and stop using the services of inhuman companies.

Twitter (social media) goals and your (our) needs won't ever be aligned you (we) should use something else.

That's where I think browsers are failing us (slightly). For me the best way to use RSS would be directly along bookmarks. The browser would should next to the title the number of unread posts and that's it! That would be amazingly simple to use and efficient.
