Feels like postgres is always the answer. I mean like there's gotta be some edge case somewhere where postgres just can't begin to compete with other more specialized database but I'd think that going from postgres to something else is much easier than the other way around.

It's not. I'm not a history buff so I won't speak for the past. But right now there is a huge accountability problem.

Government literally can't exist without ignoring accountability.

Corporations are incentivised to ignore accountability.

Individuals want to ignore accountability.

You only have control over yourself. If you want your life to go better then you have to take the accountability.

I'm sorry but some calls are synchronous. Even if all the calls between are async it doesn't matter. It won't make things faster for your service to be async when the process is fundamentally async. The thing that really matters is how are you going to ship this?

You should figure out if there is a way it can be delivered incrementally.

Make sure it's easy yo roll back from new to old on as small a chunk as possible.

Make sure rollbacks and deploys don't require manual futzing.

Make sure it's easy for outside people to KNOW the status of things without asking you.

Make sure you have a way to coordinate with feature devs on when it's OK to work on a specific chunk.

Make sure you can test if things are working after you deploy a change.

After that you'll probably come up with like 30 ways to translate the code and use all of them until you find one that's actually tollerable.

This is the problem. Right now we're not in the, I need AI to work or get out stage. We're in the AI might completely upend reality stage.

It's just people telling stories to find bigger fools. Like the ads claiming they sell an AI employee that never needs sleep and never talks back.

Those ads are the same thing as those ads shoved in the lawn near the mcdonnalds drive through that look like they were drawn with sharpie, but are really mass printed. "Real estate investor looking for pupil, trade my money" kind of stuff.

They are purposefully looking for suckers that would overlook the sketchyness. They don't want normal people applying, that reduces the pitches effectiveness.

Only desperate people who will fall for anything.

I'm not an expert, but I've worked at a bank and had to go through all the regulatory trainings. I didn't hear about any good regulation other than things that should be covered by regular law. Like apparently there's special regulation about basically not commiting fraud?!

Of all the industries in the US Health Care is the MOST regulated. How on earth is that "unchecked"? The problem is the checks are (and always will be) written by the companies.
