I suppose cloud won because: - nobody wants to deal with the networking stack on the internet - you want servers alive all the time - it's businesses running their software on servers to serve to customers

imo the problem with UST vs DAI was not under vs over collateralisation, but rather that Luna supporting UST had its value tied to UST adoption. On the other hand, DAI is collateralised by things like Eth, which could also in theory crash, but get their value from a much wider ecosystem than just DAI - hence one potentially avoids the circularity.

I suspect the following is a big factor.
Quantitative easing has found its way in property and crypto asset price rises, in addition to inflated startup funding.
The latter is finally trickling into higher wage competition. People then move jobs as way to hop salary.
Reminds me of this video of Paul Graham, where he says that startup ideas like a beautiful woman to a nerd, "if you got me, you wouldn't have a clue what to do with me"! [see 3:00 onwards ish in video]

Some other reasons for saving files in the cloud not mentioned: - lets you access them cross-device more easily (replicating the files on each device could be could, but uploading to the cloud seems easier); - backup, in case my device breaks or is lost
I wonder if the community would be a better source of funding than corporate donors? Something like Gitcoin.
