Came here to say the same thing, this is a must have. They should allow to pick "remote" or "telecommute" for people posting jobs too. For now I see posts using different wording such as "anywhere", "telecommute" and "remote". This is very important for devs.
You used a dev version of a tool that is not meant to be ran in production or for any serious task and then complained it didn't work with your attempt. As this bug is not present in the real prod version of mongodb, it doesn't make sense to criticize mongodb for it. Also next time RTFM before using a tool you don't know much about.
The 32bit version is available for convenience, nobody uses it in prod. You can't complain that a simple testing tool limited to 2gb can't store more than 2gb.
Yes, it was true that the 32bit version of mongodb that is limited to 2gb would lose your data if you injected more than 2gb in it, shame on mongodb...

I'd be curious to see how accessing an open wifi can be made illegal. I mean, it's legal to scan for wifi networks, this how we all connect to wifi networks. Now, what happen when my laptop finds an open wifi network? I if I click to connect to that network, my laptop wifi is going to ask permission (through handshake and protocol etc) to the open wifi which is going to accept and grant me permission. How can asking first and receiving a positive response to enter an open wifi be illegal? I mean it's not like I actually broke into it or cracked the password, I actually asked first and got an inviting response.

Unless they have constant access to your servers to make sure you don't make any changes afterward... But even then, the only way to be sure about one's privacy on the net is to run your own server, no web service can beat that kind of privacy. I personally prefer Google to Duck Duck Go by the way (especially using chromium search feature by pressing TAB) but if I really really cared about privacy to the point of giving up on Google, Duck Duck Go wouldn't be enough, sorry. Good luck though.
People here are probably not going to like this but I will not trust Duck Duck Go until they release their whole source code and allow me to run my own instance. For now, there's still a middle man called Duck Duck Go that I have to blindly trust. I salute his efforts to make his page privacy friendly, but as long as there is a middle man and no one to check his source code to check if he's not sending anything about us, there can't possibly and technically be any guaranteed privacy. Any one who has taken basic cryptography course would agree with that.

If you're not going to adopt webkit or make trident open source, can you at least make it easy to run it on mac and linux without downloading insane amounts data of VMs.

Well, if you look at their market share http://www.netmarketshare.com/os-market-share.aspx?qprid=9 The iPhone is only 0.5% of users, and that's probably much less in the rest of the world, same for osX (5% but only in the US). So Go not being far behind is not something that's entirely impossible.

I'll be honest, I'm not spending $499 or more on an iPad.
Apple is a company that has billions in cash. Any amount of money lost because of this won't do anything to their bottom line, something like 0.01% maybe less. The amount of free publicity and props they got from that action however are worth millions, I mean, just read what people are saying on this thread, they're all praising apple. How much do you think that's worth as publicity?
How about all the publicity they got from it for free? I'm sure visits to apple.com got a big bump today thanks to that. Apple.com is on the frontpage of every social sites right now (reddit, digg, hn etc).
Having an open codec doesn't prevent at all using DRM.
Google doesn't want to kill mozilla. Open standards are good for the web and therefor good for Google. Google explicitly said that they want other browsers to copy the features of chrome because great broswers mean a better web experience for everyone which is good for google. A competitor such as mozilla that embraces open standard is actually a good thing for google, that's the kind of browser competitor they want, not IE.
As for freeing On2 codec, google made it clear on their press release when they bought on2 that having an open video standard was primordial for the web. And again, it's in their interest to make the web the best platform possible, and having a free and open video codec usable by all is a huge part of achieving that goal.
Letting the On2 codec locked in a drawer would be a huge mistake, it would help mpeg4 be the ubiquitous standard making any alternative irrelevant and useless (like vorbis or aac were with mp3, even though vorbis and aac were actually better). If there is any time to make use of On2, it's now and that's by making it open source.
Mozilla is waiting for google to open source On2's codec.

Except for youtube which is #4 worldwide and blogger.com #7, not to mention their adsense ads that are all over the web. And don't forget buzz, that is building an open distributed social network over the internet. I think google is doing real fine against facebook.
Just turn off cookies and use a proxy, Google results are still way way superior.
That's cool if you're happy with OS X. It's just that I know many OS X devs who use ubuntu in a VM. I'm personally happy with a full install of Ubuntu and Emacs instead of textmate while others prefer OS X + textmate or emacs or vim or what have you, to each his/her own. I was just stating an alternative, I didn't know that was trolling.
Except Android is older than WebOS.
A better way to use all those unix tools is to just run Ubuntu in a VM and develop there, or just replace MacOS with Ubuntu entirely.
