Anyone care to elaborate on: "Poll - Polling 30 Million Clients All Over the World Doesn't Scale"
Rather interested on defining an HTTP notification structure.

although in an ideal world this is excellent advice; however many students aren't fortunate enough to have their school bankrolled for them and need to work throughout the summer to pay for their education.
Big companies offer pretty outstanding pay when you're interning, helping you pay for college.
I do agree that building is something which is invaluable; however while in college before you've really been proven and shown off development skills to work at a startup or have funds to work on a new idea you're really forced into a corner for working on side things in your spare time.
I did smile here especially when I saw an explicit example directly above it that too.
Should have required JSON posting data then just given the example of curl --data "postInfo" url
regardless awesome idea!
Thank you Robert!! We are anxiously awaiting licences! What a wonderful discount, so excited to have picked up my copies!!
um no; we all just want to get in on this before the end of days. Who doesn't want to go out with their favorite JetBrains product?!
Will do thank you!
Same Issue; purchased about 3 hours ago
Look at all the pro gamers; they aren't bringing their mouse every where they go, they just save their settings rock in another mouse and are ready for gaming.
Great.. another low budget tablet that I'm going to need to support when developing android applications.
why didn't I just stick to iOS?
Outstanding article. Well overdue for the Mongo community. There are always the haters whom find themselves ignoring documents then complaining about how things are setup.
Thank you for going back through mongo articles to iterate the key failures to understanding points.
Two paths for working with new technologies:
- Download, Brief 3rd party tutorial, Production, Break, Complain, RTFM / Complain
- RTFM, Smile, Download | Move On, Staging, Production
Seems most of the issues from this article came from a lack of reading and investigating.
Looks pretty obvious to me; however I am a novice when it comes to RTFM..
Should just have the Generate button be an ajax request so the entire page doesn't have to reload every time!
Awesome though
That seems like such a terrible idea; I love the fact that everything is neatly organized in iTunes.
Think of how terrible it would be for your Apple TV to then break out and have to look at multiple applications for your content instead of one.
I highly doubt apple would make the mistake of creating more mini apps to manage each of the various items; just would be a stupid design move.
love it! bummed different parts keep going down; although I'm sure servers are getting slammed :)

Latest statement from the school.

Statement on school meals from Argyll and Bute Council Published Date: 15 Jun 2012 - 10:53 Updated: 14:19 - 15 June 2012
Statement from Cllr Roddy McCuish, Leader of Argyll and Bute Council
"There is no place for censorship in this Council and never will be whilst I am leader. I have advised senior officers that this Administration intends to clarify the Council's policy position in regard to taking photos in schools. I have therefore requested senior officials to consider immediately withdrawing the ban on pictures from the school dining hall until a report can be considered by Elected Members. This will allow the continuation of the "Neverseconds" blog written by an enterprising and imaginative pupil, Martha Payne which has also raised lots of money for charity.
But we all must also accept that there is absolutely no place for the type of inaccurate and abusive attack on our catering and dining hall staff, such as we saw in one newspaper yesterday which considerably inflamed the situation. That, of course, was not the fault of the blog, but of the paper.
We need to find a united way forward so I am going to bring together our catering staff, the pupils, councillors and council officials - to ensure that the council continues to provide healthy, nutrious and attractive school meals. That "School Meals Summit" will take place later this summer.
I will also meet Martha and her father as soon as I can, along with our lead councillor on Education, Michael Breslin to seek her continued engagement, along with lots of other pupils, in helping the council to get this issue right. By so doing Martha Payne and her friends will have had a strong and lasting influence not just on school meals, but on the whole of Argyll & Bute."
outstanding article; things ring so so true. Highschool is such a rough time with getting people singled out, and it's hard for those who are individuals.
Kudos to this guy for an outstanding talk to this kid; inspires hopefully many of us to share our experiences and reach out to younger kids we see.
i think you missed his point..
TL;DR
stack traces? learn to throw exceptions and I'm given a very nice stack trace.
complaining ftl..
who ever has the name on the bill seems to be the one responsible.
Awesome; if you could add syntax highlighting I think this would be pretty dang perfect. Navigation is much easier.
I feel like this is exactly what CSS was ment not to do; It shouldn't be something which adds content; it's simply there for styling.
Something more will confuse new developers into misusing it, and ultimately breaking more things that shouldn't have been even able to do.
This is a user issue; It's the way your one finger swipes work on multi-touch. You'll also notice when you swipe with one finger it navigates backwards (as noted in the document).
You can adjust this in your OSX mouse settings by having it to two fingers (which is very handy). I switched mine instantly and now i'm able to navigate through various pages with two finger swipes.
This isn't OSX breaking the web...
Upon reading this article I seem to think that in most cases it's actually the developers fault. Don't be retarded; create a contract for the work you do with your potential employer.
I've been doing freelance for quite some time; and did have two clients try to screw me over; however due to the contracts which I setup ahead of time, and having a lawyer send a simple note upon their threat of not paying, quickly remedied this non-paying issue.
1) Cover your ass 2) Setup a reasonable Payment schedule 3) Don't be stupid
things I love about nginx; blazing fast!
things I hate; english community support isn't great.
loved reading the last comment: point is SOPA sucks.
