At Reddit, we’re beginning to move our stateless services to it. We’re still in early stages and want to have a story that can at least be better than our current infrastructure. A lot of that means heavily utilizing Kubernetes abstractions, sticking close to the community and it’s tooling so we can provide more functionality than we could before with just a small team of infra folks. What I mean by this specifically is benefits of things like having an API for deployments, being able to provide different rollout strategies, offering devs access to more infrastructure safely etc. Another thing we’re hoping Kubernetes helps us solve is being able to become multi-cloud tenants. The benefits of this to us would be cost savings, and hopefully more reliability.

From an engineer's perspective, it's a wonderful opportunity to be part of a company that's only now building out most of their tech stack. We get quite a lot of traffic and it's very interesting to work at this scale.

Mark Zuckerberg didn't write this. Facebook does this thing where they make it seem like it has one voice speaking for them - which is Mark. What is happening is multiple people in Facebook's PR department wrote this. I would even argue the title is misleading. We're feeding into the frenzy that Mark is writing this on behalf of Facebook. We should say it like it is. "Facebook released a statement"

Thanks for the feedback! The page was custom built using bootstrap and we didn't really look at any templates. The page was meticulously designed and was supposed to have a blueprint-ish feel due to the fact that we are still in development.

Graham is the coolest UCSD professor I have ever had a conversation with. I remember a particular instance, at the beginning of my first quarter at UCSD. I wasn't familiar with his work and had never heard of him. My naive 19 year old self walked into his office hours asking some simple probability question. I noticed a cast on his hand and inquired about it. He jokingly said he got a cut because he was juggling ice skates. I thought he was joking. I went home and looked him up, only to find that he was the head of the national jugglers association at one point. Pretty awesome guy.
