Emacs pdf-tools mode is very much underrated. Checkout the list of org-roam ecosystem emacs packages. I don't know if Emacs supports excel or word.

Search can not be avoided. The alternative to search is to go through everything that has been read which is not feasible. Tagging is the only solution. The user has to remember the tags which is referred to as context in zettlekeaten method. I could not see any workaround to this problem

Is Joelspolsky overrated ? There is no public code available to verify his competency like JohnCarmack. His writings are more about marketing and general technical knowledge. In my opinion he is overrated.

Buy a router that supports flashing openwrt. It is very transparent to debug and supports lots of features in addition to adblock, monitoring, etc at the router level.

There is another Emacs package "pdftools" which is very underrated. It's amazing package, and just like org-mode pdftools will also be useful for the next several decades

This happens all the time. This might sound cynical but it's impossible to change the attitude of some people. Any tips to avoid them without being quoted as "not a team player".

More importantly remote work tremendously helps overcome bias against age. Everything else trumps in comparison of not having a job due to age bias.
