Do you use anything else in conjunction with it? Or NextDNS alone is enough?
I ask because it seems simple enough that I can just install it really quickly on non-technical people's computers (when they ask me for help) without bothering to downloading a bunch of extensions on different browsers, updating stuff, etc, etc...

Definitely sucky, I was waiting for and would have upgraded to an SE2 in a heartbeat. It's the perfect size and I really don't understand why folks no longer want phones that can be used in one hand or fits into a pocket.

Are you building an app for a doctor's office with low-tech ability users and low tech-level expectations, but extremely high reliability and speed expectations?
Or are you building a dating app for millennials who are going to expect the app to be shiny & cool?

If true, I think this is awesome. I ended up recently getting a top-of-the-line Macbook Pro because of its better GPU, but I would have greatly preferred a Macbook Air + this kind of external display.

Well yes, that's why VHDL, Verilog, and the like exists.
In those languages, when you "include" a module that is "unsynthesizable", for example the stdio library, then the entire program is rendered unsynthesizable and unable to be compiled into logic gates -- but can still be run for simulation purposes.
Also see RingWorld (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ringworld), a classic Sci-Fi novel about a structure that is an intermediate stage to a Dyson Sphere (a ring instead of a sphere).
