is this a joke? Investors were begging to get in Github it's whole history, no surprise it sold for 7.5 billion

except they already took a large secondary offering they keep if the company fizzles out

"Yesterday we discussed how Robinhood had raised $363 million in new funding at a $5.6 billion post-money valuation. All of that was primary capital, but we've since learned from multiple sources that there also was a secondary transaction whereby Robinhood's co-founders and some early employees cashed out just north of $100 million."

ironically Uber currently has a business in this exact area

"Returning to the files, I soon found the puzzle piece. It was in a document Otto had submitted in support of its application to operate the state’s first Autonomous Technology Certification Facility (ATCF). This is an independent organization that will assess all autonomous vehicles that want to operate (rather than just test) in Nevada, checking that they comply with the state’s safety requirements and traffic laws. The application was a success, and construction of the facility is now underway in a suburb of Las Vegas. (Yes, you read that right — Uber will soon be assessing other companies’ compliance with safety rules.)"

I mean prolly somewhere near 40/50% of Twitter's 330 Million MAU are fake, the company will drop 50% or more in value if they ever decide to delete those accounts, incentives are aligned for Twitter to encourage bots by making it easy as possible (not adding captchas, etc.) and not enforce policy

"but it's not more expensive to use GKE than to roll your own Kubernetes elsewhere."

depends on what scale your at and the fact that your vendor locked, can't use GKE in other data centers

also there is limited liquidity and limited secondary activity so it is either sell at $49 billion or wait for an IPO, Softbank has all the leverage, why on earth wouldn't they try to lowball investors who were going to sell and had no other options

I mean the price he sold at IPO was way higher then what he bought in at the seed round as one of the first investors, it is one of the best seed investments ever, given he was already one of the longest shareholders by the time of the IPO it made sense to sell
