Options can a significant portion of sign on bonus but they typically vest over several years so I guess they are hoping for an IPO eventually. IMHO Databricks will be overtaken by "events" including AI disillusionment, broader open source tools and broader education across the workforce. So the eventual IPO will not happen.

RFP responses. In enterprise sales, there's a huge amount of back and forth with different teams in a customer when you're selling anything but very simple applications. Most enterprise customers require certified or authoritative responses with backup material that is tested later during formal verification.
In case any of you use draw.io note that you can animate lines with a right click. Last time I did this for a presentation I did have to record to gif but it worked really well.
Even the healthiest large companies do this sort of thing, I've worked in a few and heck I've sold to a few too. Low code solutions that somehow need a team of contractors to deliver business functionality, delayed projects that drop key integrations to deliver something on time but functionally useless, CTOs whose next job depends on giving work to supplier. Worst of all, organisations that insist that they buy not build but then have larger software teams than their suppliers.
There is. UML diagrams for software, Archimate or C4 diagrams for architecture, value stream for process performance. But depending on the audience you may end up needing to use simple box and line diagrams and they work well too. Draw.io is probably the best drawing tool out there and has enough libraries of shapes to get you started.
I used Zim for over a decade but recently migrated to Obsidian because of the mobile support. Definitely a big change but I can say that after a year it has worked for me and I don't miss Zim as much as thought would.
Dashboards are really calls to action hidden in donut charts. I'd rather just see a text message telling me when to start panicking and why.
Wonder what would happen if someone trained an LLM on these texts? A whole new mega religion?
Millions of elderly people are already getting scammed by overseas call centers so unless we do something more significant this tech will not make one iota of a difference.
IMHO Twitter drove its own need and now that it has pretty much gone no one wants the hassle of serving a new master.
Outside of main cities and Germany is the same for restaurants and cafes. Pita
Don't be. It is such a nightmare esp around places like Frankfurt.
Aka I Cannot Even arrive
Me too! I eventually migrated to a school exercise book and an illegal combo of time blocking and Final Version Perfected and it works reasonably well. Now I know what I am failing to do!
In the EU they send a letter informing of price change and give you the right of cancellation except for rate rises in line with the retail price index or inflation which are included in the contract. Truly fixed price contracts are advertised as such, I have one for my broadband, can only be withdrawn by the vendor.
Elon's Twitter acquisition was exactly to do that but he muffed it.
I work in the enterprise software space and the last thing regular users want is a flash modern ui. They want familiarity, because enterprise software is like an extension of a user's mind and they want it to stay the same until they retire. I have seen first hand how a auto factory worker can capture data in a green screen terminal plastic covered keyboard faster than using a flash web UI and a mouse. Speed and familiarity are the orders of the day.
For a complex and sensitive topic it makes sense to listen to others and potentially change tack.
Price is the only barrier to desalination. Environmental impact is a problem to be solved, but we never try to solve it for other things, so why for this?
Hardware is either niche and unachievable or commodity and widely available. Maybe you could consider pivoting to software for widely available non mainstream headsets until you make enough to fund the dedicated hardware.
Pharmacist here. Most pharmaceuticals do actually work but finding the right one for a patient can sometimes be harder than you would think. I suspect your family members are quiet about their opinions for a very good reason.
Ah the Xmas edition of the BMJ! Full of funny studies and articles treated seriously. The one about common case note abbreviations was the best one and ended up being quite influential.
Evidence?
I know I'm old guard but uml worked well for me.
The sorely missed Kent Boogie Board did this out of the box and it worked really well!
This is pretty fantastic, well presented and easy to understand. You definitely need to get in front of enterprise customers with this. It hits a lot of key asks from my enterprise customers, simple AI driven insights and automation.
We had a crazy President
Surely in order achieve maximum return the animal farming process must become industrialised which leads to unpleasant outcomes for the animals involved. From chickens to salmon, small animals are treated poorly. Fish farms are a case in point, they destroy the local environment as well as constrain the farmed fish in unnatural ways.
I doubt the US govt is doing any such thing. There is no advantage for them in doing so even if extraterrestrial intelligence does exist. Space is too vast to allow for visitation or effective communication between planets never mind solar systems.
This is why one should never look for a job and just let the job find you; and where linkedin works so damn well. In my own case I just let jobs find me and I tripled my salary in 5 years.
