Apple is arbitrarily flagging newly created developer accounts as fraudulent and threatening to remove them.

As a developer myself, I cannot help but feel outraged and disappointed to have my app flagged as fraudulent _before launch_ and have my license threatened to be revoked.

At no time the company reached out to me to answer any questions or provide any explanation as of the app's activities. So to have my app flagged as fraudulent out of the blue is really insensitive. I understand this may be an automated review, however Apple should be more careful before calling someone out like that.

My app is built in React Native and open source. It is easily verifiable that it does not contain any misleading behavior out fraudulent activity.

That number seems relatively cheap for me. I guess it's a little over that if it's worldwide, no? Not to mention related values like stock prices, etc...

Am I the only one who sees the "holes" in this?

without any contact between the two

Well, the "thoughts" were sent through the internet, so there's a link there

"You can actually transmit information directly from one brain to another brain without intervention of the senses."

I guess that if you are interpreting the information as light, there's intervention of sight.

Still interesting though, huge pontential here.

Dead Man's Switch 12 years ago

An alternative is a personal instance of a DMS for each person. Maybe a Github repo linked to a service provider, like Heroku, where each person manages their own switch.

One may say this is too complicated and the layman wouldn't know how to do this, but laymen wouldn't have the need for this. Anyone who is not satisfied with the given service, must have the power and will to change it to their needs.

Nest for showers 12 years ago

There's no need for electric showers. The heat regulator could be attached to the "cold" and "hot" handles and a thermometer at the output of the shower.

When the temperature differs from the setup it automatically adjust the "hot" or "cold" temperature to regulate it.

The problem with this is that the whole system would be "reactionary", meaning that temperature regulations would only happen AFTER temperature alterations.

One could argue that anything stolen is money stolen

It doesn't matter. The code is already out there.

Respectfully, I think the authors didn't think much and were kinda dumb. The project had a great potential, it was barely legal, they bought a fight with the media industry, but the cherry-on-top is that they putted their asses on the line. They shouldn't have used their real names. Anonymise your accounts and be happy.

But as I said, it doesn't matter. Everyone already has a fork of their repo (which has over 70 open pull-requests) and any one of these forks may become the new "official". It won't stop. The gears are already running, much like bitcoin. Fortunately.
