Building out https://shareseer.com

I just built out a MCP for ShareSEER https://shareseer.com/claude to enable the data that I have about US public company filings, financials & insider transaction right within Claude

MBA at a top school hands down. The network you build with stay with you forever. One of my regrets is not getting one and now is too late.
Follow your curiosity. What is a problem that bothers you? That would be be the best to start a project with.
follow your curiosity.
i agree, its way easier to purchase a domain and launch a site!

I just about finished reading Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari. Strongly recommend it, to ponder over the human condition.

Hi Dave, Kudos for sharing what you experienced. I actually completed a year working on https://shareseer.com on thanksgiving day. It is a side project. I have found shipping whenever a small milestone is hit to work for me. Another trick i use is to keep a backlog of items that need to be done, which brings me back to work on it. Thirdly I really care about the problem. Fourth an d finally I realized distribution is a vastly harder problem than product. Getting people to use what you build is the core of whether the product succeeds or not.
I'm building https://www.shareseer.com to make access to financial data easy.
Most recently I added a feature that allows download of financial statements for most US listed companies.
Wake up early and work on your personal project for an hour. Repeat for a month, then a year.
I have been working on a project called Shareseer. Shareseer was born out of my pain of finding company filings as I was learning about valuation of companies.
Another frustration of mine was reading boilerplate text when I read the company risk section. So I applied some machine learning & Natural language processing to extract the unique risks. The way to access it is to visit https://shareseer.com then search for a company name or ticker. You will find the 10-k/10-q filings along with risks marked as important by our algorithms. Alternatively you can make a query to https://shareseer.com/search?q=NFLX and replace tick with your desired tick. Analyzed Risks are available for the S & P 500. Filings are available for all companies. The other features available are a real time insider transaction feed and a company filings feed:
http://shareseer.com/today/insiders
http://shareseer.com/today/filings
It would be great if you could give the application a spin. I'm trying to learn:
a) Is this useful to you as an investor?
b) What are your pain points today in your research process?
c) Any other feedback you may have?
I think it’s cool because it allows any investor to improve their due diligence when buying an individual stock. It reduces the gap between what the people on Wall Street know and what the average joe investor knows. The insiders filings are an entire day faster than what major brokerages offer today. The risk analysis is unique too.
There is a case to say that research and valuation is better than following a trend. I’m working on a project to make the research project friction less. I would love feedback on it. we also added company descriptions for all S & P 500. e.g http://shareseer.com/search?q=AFL
Good point. We will consider adding such a feature. Thanks for checking it out!
thanks!
>> As a retail investor / layman, can you explain the benefits or workflow? (legalities, how to go about this, use cases)<<<<
All company insiders(e.g CEO,Directors etc) are required to report to the Government, stock transactions they make in their company. Many brokerages will give you this information on a per company basis. What we have seen is there is a delay between one to three days. So the benefit is you get the information as it is reported. What you do with this information is up to you. But being aware of large transactions by insiders could be a useful metric as part of your research. For example here are transaction's that we came across on our insider page last night http://shareseer.com/today/insiders?f=walmart There was ~120M of stock that was disposed of.
>>What happens if this gets really popular -- will there be a gate/fee?<<< We have some ideas on building specific insights on top of this, that we could consider as a paid feature. For now everything is free as we are learning about the pain points of investors. Our focus today is to learn from you what your pain points are as an individual investor and what you think about the application today?

we haven't thought about quantifying risk in the manner you suggested but we definitely want to identify all kinds of risks that may not be obvious.
Hi Hyencomper, How this is different from finviz is that this is real time with all transactions. Finviz has a delay and generally is for few largest transactions.

Excel/Libreoffice to track portfolio allocation. Create a simple spreadsheet with columns Category, Security, Units, Price, Purchase Price, Value, Percentage Allocation, Dividend and fill it out. Learn about income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statement.
I use https://shareseer.com/ to find company filings with this information and read at leisure. That gives me an idea of the business.
