As a Linux systems engineer I’ve looked behind the curtain at HAOS and was very impressed by how well things are implemented. Been running it for years in KVM and have never had an issue.

Used my Infriray while house hunting. Possibly saved me big time €. Great also for spotting leaks any water in/on surfaces shows up quite clearly. In the same vein I use it to spot pet accidents.

The infriray is the Chinese knockoff brand which is actually better than flir because they don’t have to follow the US weapons law. So with it I get 30(?) fps instead of the ~5 with flir. Resolution is better too. It’s very sensitive and can clearly show a hand print on a surface for a minute or so even if you only touch it for 1/2 a second.

How do you generally know when the long test is over? Is there a way to get a notification of completion? Is it ok to begin using the drives while testing? I personally run my new drives through a few rounds of badblocks

Who said anything about houses? An apartment dweller can have a power outlet installed at their parking spot. For people that have to endure street parking lantern charging is becoming more and more prevalent. Back when I didn’t have a private charging I would charge while doing my grocery shopping. Of course there’s always work charging.

Back in the day luddites also pointed out the lack of gasoline infrastructure. A horse is much less annoying obviously.

Hi, I have the ZMI QB826G and I'm 99% sure it blips the power when starting passthrough. Do really like the thing though (except for the display that remains on while in use and is fairly bright)

I have another solution for you: I've been using https://de.aliexpress.com/item/1005005036674891.html for my router and it's been pretty good so far for the six months or so I've had it. I was made aware of it from an electronics Youtuber I trust who did a teardown and was impressed with the quality and safety. Sorry I can't find the video at the moment.

Delta was having issues so they moved me over to a Hawaiian flight (they aren’t really partners) The flight attendants where so rude (and other problems) I’ve vowed the same.

Before FOSDEM I did some walking around Brussels and came across the VUB (Vrije Universiteit Brussel) campus which I'm not sure is connected to ULB but it seemed to be in even worse shape. I loved it because the campus felt a bit like a dystopian cyberpunk world. That being said I'm currently attending Cfgmgmtcamp in Ghent at the HoGent university campus and It's in a beautiful well maintained building. Maybe it's also slowly decaying :)

The N900 did NOT run Meego. I agree with OP 100% that the N9 was an amazing phone. Honestly it was brilliant. Super smooth and well thought out. Polished too. With an android emulation layer on top it could have been a success. Alas Nokia got Elop’d.

Not for rootless containers unless there’s a development I’m unaware of.

Our Fiat 500e comes pretty close to this. One attractive LCD for the dash and besides that no fuss. No nav (up to 2016), etc. Very raw driving experience. Paid 8k for mine.
