Great achievement, congratulations!
This reminds me of flying saucer, a CSS render written in pure Java. Successfully used it in multiple projects for rendering PDFs in the past. It has some great features to handle paged media. For example, it can repeat table headers on a new page, if there is a page-break within the table.
Unfortunately, it seems that it doesn't get much active development anymore.
I highly recommend the map material and renderthemes from openandromaps.(https://www.openandromaps.org/en)
They are great for cycling and hiking. Setup is a bit more involved compared to maps.me, because you need a separate maps viewer app. Overall nothing too complicated for a somewhat tech savvy audience though.
My mapping app of choice is locus maps. There are alternatives such as OruxMaps available too.
That's a very good point. However I think we need a replacement for some core components in play services at least.
For example it just makes a lot of sense from a technical point of view that multiple apps share the same connection for push notifications.
Moving for one or two month to a warmer / more sunny location helps a lot. Doesn't have to be the whole winter to have a very positive effect for me.
Usually living in Austria, spending some time in Winter on the Canary Islands.
I asume you are managing classical adminstrative data like student records and so on. For this case I advise a relational database like postgres.
