Nah GitHub/MS doesn't allow SSH keys for their internal stuff. You have to use git-credential-manager, which enforces MFA

And you can upgrade in future to match your actual needs instead of wasting money trying to front load costs for no benefit.

You can buy a “lightly used” Dell Optiplex with 8gb RAM for like $40 which will cover all your self hosting needs today.

Linux has this impression because most people use it as an aftermarket OS.

If you buy a device that's designed to run Linux from the start from say, the good people over at System76.com, you'll get a much smoother experience.
