Consider Minecraft is entirely coded in Java, I'm surprised it's not been ported to Android platform sooner... But again, although game's size itself is not big, Minecraft is very resource consuming as the world expands.
Just downloaded Firefox 6. Umm... I don't have benchmark software to test internal improvements, but I don't really feel like any difference. Probably because Firefox 5 is already fast enough for me. But Xmarks addon is broken now, and I experienced some issues with trying to install some of the add-ons. Everything else is fine.
What's wrong with subversion system for bug fixes? So, you mean they fixed so many bugs, improved so many back-end features in Firefox 4, which perfectly justifies a version jump from 4 to 7? I seem to remember old days Firefox 2 to Firefox 3 took forever...

This version inflation thing is getting a bit out of hand...I'm using Firefox 5 right now, I don't feel any difference from Firefox 4.

As the closest relative to C, and the cross-platform language, tech world can't really live without it. But you can, of course... is it the programming language of the future? I think the programming language of the future hasn't been created yet.
I am using it on my macbook pro. FF8 is faster compare to FF5 I was using. Schubert-it PDF plugin, Adblock, XMark, Flashgot works. Firebug, Google Dictionary, Download statusbar don't work... and there are some minor bugs with mouse hover effect.
split pane seems to require configuration since default is "cmd+d" which is set to be shown desktop on some mac.

I agree. Especially Apple will try to compete heavily on HTML5 standards, since Flash is out of question for iPad, and iPhone. Since their devices only support Safari, HTML5 can certainly be optimized for it. Same thing for the rest of the world... kinda make it more complicated than Flash platform.
My experience of HTML5 right now doesn't really have significant performance improvement compare to Flash, even on Mac OS X. I think it still has a long way to go. But it is nice to see someone's exploring the frontier! The blurring effect doesn't seem right though...
default smoothing example uses 52% - 62% CPU at run time on my macbook pro i7 duo core 2.66GHz laptop. Bouncing ball uses 100% on average. Pretty cool script! it makes a good example what today's browser is capable of.
I can understand Argyris Zymnis got his PhD in Electrical Engineering, probably did some research in signal processing, data fusion, etc. A Physics PhD ends up become a advertisement algorithm coder? How does that academic experience help though...no idea quantum mechanics applies in this area.
I wouldn't go so far say Mac is more secure than Linux, both are Unix-based. As for my user experience, Mac OS X is by far the best.
