I want to like it too but I don't think DDG results will ever be as good as Google because of the no tracking thing. Google just has more context to figure out what I actually mean with my query, and the more I use it the smarter it'll become.

I'm not sure I understand the need for 8k. If you want to watch your TV at an optimal viewing angle of 20%~40% then 4k is more than enough to achieve "retina display" at the required viewing distance.

Didn't know about Ensure Complete and it seems that you are right, it looks pretty complete. The problem though is the variance in the DV% of different nutrients. For instance, if I wanted to get 100% of sodium from Ensure then I would have to intake 3500 calories and 260% protein, and I haven't heard too many great things about having too much protein. The DV% of most micros is not listed so there may be a lot of problems like this.

No, but it sounds logical to me that it would be a lot more efficient to get, say, X tons of calcium from calcium carbonate than from milk, or protein from a high yielding source instead of one that needs to be tasty.

Older products like Ensure weren't good enough to go "all in" on liquid food because they don't have 100% of everything we know we need.

>the idea of chugging multiple cups of gray, sludgy drink daily sounds like an enormous burden that would grow tiring really quickly. It sounds like something that would make you dread the passing of the day, as another cup of slurry draws ever closer.

I guess some people just don't care about taste as much as they care about superior nutrition that uses less resources to produce and transport, and less time to prepare, consume and clean up.

Life is more than just climbing the food chain and making money.

Also open source projects are not "somebody else's", they belong to everyone. When you contribute to open source all of mankind is benefited.

Why I Left Medium 13 years ago

If it's not about personal brand or profit then why would the writers care that the platform is making money out of their content?

Is it so hard to believe that some people just want to share their thoughts with the world and don't care about profit or building their personal brand?

The adults are saying "no", the children just have to go along with that choice that was made for them. This is arguably a form of coercion because the children are being denied the opportunity to a better life.

What about their grandchildren? They could get a good education, integrate into modern society and have the opportunity to live a way happier life than if they had stayed in the island.

I agree that it should stand up to scientific scrutiny before being able to claim that it is safe, but the argument he was making before he deleted all his posts was that Soylent was most definitely unsafe solely because it was made by "some computer kids".

He has posted blood test results corroborating his claim of improved health. His blog is down right now unfortunately.

Your only argument is an argument from authority. Sorry, I'm just not impressed at all.

It is not a "substance". This is basically a multivitamin mixed in with some fluor, some whey protein and some olive oil. You only need common sense to validate the safety.
