Really liking the interface while building mockups (already started building them!).

Anyhow, I guess the author feels the ease with searching on the iPad[which you have also mentioned], which is true about the iOS ecosystem. Very easy to use definitely.

If the author had searched, he would have come across Google Sketchup. I downloaded and used the same, although I had to read a couple of tutorials before hitting the road. And it served the purpose of designing my new apartment.

Not sure if the iPad app the author used was intuitive enough to use, because I did feel overhelmed by the vast options in Sketchup.

Hi Samir. Saw your site just now and I have a few comments from my side:

1. I have seen many popular book/product sales sites and usually it is a one page site which pitches the idea and shows through testimonials what can be done. You could use a similar format for your site.

2. The copy writing on your site needs some work. It's a sales pitch so it's gotta be convincing.

3. As @djb_hackernews pointed out in his comment, ebooks usually work out for bloggers or 'celebrities' who already have a following. Perhaps you could start a blog about your ideas [since you mentioned you have worked on many other ideas before]. This way you would slowly but steadily get some regular readers. Also this would help in future ebooks you would like to sell.

4. You have displayed a couple of testimonials on your site. Maybe you could have some of your customers who have actually implemented the business to post some photos/videos talking about how your ebook helped them. This way your testimonials become engaging.

And BTW, the site definitely needs an overhaul.

Surprising. I heard of Zynga hiring people for development for their Bangalore office 2 months back. Which would mean they have been operational at least for 2 months here.

I don't think language is a problem in India in cities like Bangalore [I'm currently staying here]. Anyone knowing English can survive here.

In terms of expenses also the broadband along with phone would be under $50/month. Also in terms of accommodation you could get a good sized apartment for $300/month.

And there are other places to look around in India other than Goa :) Can't speak much about places outside of India though.

Although it would depend on what @hacktravel wants to do while travelling too.

I'm not sure what you [@hacktravel] mean by this. Are you talking of training programs of some sort? Or tech conferences?

Having to download PDFs to read a magazine or newspaper online is real nasty. Just goes to show how much techincal expertise the media publication houses have with them currently.

A lighter format[in terms of size] which also supports social media sharing would be the right thing to bring the magazine experience to the iPad.

I wonder how will they be able to push updates in corporate environments which are behind firewalls and restrict access to the outside world.

Yeah, there are plenty of tutorials out there for teaching Python to kids. I also remember seeing a book once, but can't remember the name.

I would like to see if currently anyone in the HN community has taught kids at a young age (preferably below 8) to code in Python and how well they could grasp it and implement it.

Yeah. It's a rule here in Bangalore to shut down all restaurants and shops by 10-10:30 PM.

Unlike in Bombay where I remember seeing kebab shops open at 1:30 AM and doing brisk business!!

Google AppEngine is really an interesting platform to use for a startup. Have been noticing a lot of people here in HN use it for theirs.

My my.. I'm surprised how the company lasted so long.

I still remember using Yahoo! for my searches in the beginning. But that was just for 2 years. Since 2002, I got hooked to Google and have never looked back.

As @variety states above, the company does not have an identity any more and the infographic depicts that.

Also reading "1453: The Holy War For Constantinople and the Clash of Islam and the West" by Roger Crowley. More of an action book than a historical one.
