I think using 1 disk redundancy is a mistake. It’s not only physical failure you’re worried about, it’s an error upon rebuild when you lose a drive. Bit rot on your remaining drives can occur which wouldn’t be detected until rebuild time when you lose a drive, and that could cause you to lose your entire volume. Bit rot can be checked for but you can’t always be sure and with larger and larger sets of data it gets slower to do.

I use raid 6 and also backup my data externally to another nas as well as backup to a static usb drive. Backup requires multiple different types since failures are so catastrophic and can occur in ways you don’t expect.

Take a short break from job hunting and pick it back up again. You tying your self worth to your job may be what’s causing undue stress thsts making it harder on you. It’s a job. It’s not who you are as a person. Understanding that even if you get a shitty job that pays the bills, it doesn’t decrease your value. Get any job you can, just use it as a breather, collect your emotions and thoughts and when you feel better level up to a new job.

I think the answer to education is to break up large schools and have schools that are no larger than 100-150 kids in total. 10x the number of schools and have individual attention to kids and teachers both. Fire the bad teachers quickly. Have larger communal facilities for things like sports and more outdoor activities like a form of scouts.

They were never asked their age and even if they were they would know to ask me what to do because I told them that they would get locked out if they put in the wrong numbers. And as expected they can no longer post to YouTube for some reason even though there are plenty of YouTubers below 13.

Google just forced me to identify myself through credit card because it threatened to delete one of my kids’ gmail accounts. Somehow they detected that my kids weren’t over 18 and said if I didn’t register them under my account it would be deleted.

The fact they can figure out my kids’ ages based on their online behavior, and through their tracking and monitoring is fucking chilling. They don’t even use Gmail often at all.

What garbage. I would support even tighter restrictions of data to force more companies to shut down. If they need such detailed personal data to survive I would not consider that innovative at all.
