I'm of the opinion that it's both problems in many ploaces.

Now study a technical discipline and blend away. IT is increasing the depth breadth and profitability of these blends daily.

Entrepeneurship killed a significant relationship of mine. It was entirely about money, she felt that I should continue to pursue my former profession, which provided meager, but stable income.

I was thinking about her and my future, which would require more than meager, stable income could provide.

Society hates entrepreneurship and that is why it is not a popular track: you need really thick skin to pursue it.

....That's an incomplete list of projects whose teams have put up with me, and even gone so far as to ask for more. I've worked in OSS for a little over a year now, and I can heartily say that I haven't regretted the decision once.

For a creator, one of the very best parts about open software is that even if the organization producing it goes belly-up, your software is yours (and everyone's) to do with as you (and they) please.

Jolla's bankruptcy positively sucks. Their entire enterprise had this... ebullience about it that couldn't be faked, and from what I hear, their product matched that.
