The target user doesn't read hacker news. The target user is typing up papers for their history class. This absolutely kills the lower end of the market. I do not know why anyone who needs Safari and MS Office would buy anything else.

The architecture of the agentic apps will force you to evolve your engineering platform and deployment story. Artificial intelligence is making a lot of people rethink the old CRUD interface to their business apps and agents take it a step further. The Mobile wave and SaaS wave are gone, it's possible that AI will open up a lot of small applications or AI Bot economy, but we will see.

The low capitalization means that you are mostly writing gluecode and winning on UX, not really doing breakthrough technology innovation that has no revenue for 5-7 years.

Are we going to keep avoiding the fact that the population growth can not be the goal any more? In fact it's better for this planet if the number of people actually decreased? BTW no on is advocating doing it forcefully, but just through distributing contraception and educating women, that seems keep the population stable.

I wouldn't be happy about that. The innovation generally stops when the folks who really know the customer and have the audacity to pull the trigger on big changes are replaced.

I got it when it was in limited beta. It's underwhelming. First problem is that it's another app on your phone instead of using the Wallet app. It's not clear why you wouldn't just use the Android/Apple app.

The second problem is that even the SFO airport doesn't take them as legitimate IDs.

For the folks who are worried about giving your phone to the cop - I guess I am not worried about it much. The cop has the right to lethal force and probably knows more about the situation when you are stopped than you ever will. So they take a look at your phone? I don't assume they will just take and keep it.

If you need to call your mom, probably best not to call her when the cop is right in front of you. If you need to call your lawyer - you are permitted to do that by law. If you are Googling for what your rights are - you are doing it way too late.

To someone who is not a neuroscientist, what does this do? Yes the regions are rewired, but aren't they rewired all the time anyway?

I have done a medium size project in React and didn't have a lot of fun working with it. Since then I tried VueJS and found it a lot more readable. Maybe the applications I wrote didn't have absolutely everything dynamically generated, but it seems like big chunks of pages were not actually that dynamic and it was nice to just see it in a form that was close to what it was supposed to render to.

So they planned on having 3000 more housing units (staff, students and additional personnel), they didn't get it. There is your shortage. The plan was flawed because it didn't account for the fact that local residents might not go along with it.

Pinning this on the tech industry is another example how lazy politicians push their problems on tech industry because it's a popular target.

These calculations based on Customer Acquisition Costs (CAC) and Long Term Value of the customers (LTV) have omitted a major factor in running a recurring revenue business – Customer Management Costs (CMC). As a result, a lot of the Cloud Startups are overvalued because investors incorrectly assume there will be little or no marginal cost to maintain recurring revenue from existing customers.

There are many ways to answer this question - I will try to keep it simple: Most of the top 1% of Product Managers are folks who get their team to focus on work that produces the maximum impact.  In order to do this, top product managers gather data and interview enough users to have a clear understanding of the following questions:

Who - Who is your user?  What do they care about in their day to day life?  What kind of business are they involved in?  How they think about themselves?

Why - Why do they need your product?  Why can't they find a solution?  Why do they find existing solutions frustrating?  Why will they go through the trouble of learning/installing/deploying something new?

What - What will happen if the product is brought to market?  How will the world of your customers change?  How will the world of their customers change?  How will the world in general change?  

Relentless data mining, interviewing, focus groups and other methods will ultimately help provide a clear understanding of these questions. Once you can articulate these three questions, you will be ahead of 99% of Product Managers in the field.

A lot of people think that product or company that got terminated is the worst thing that can happen, that actually is not the case. Russians tried it with USSR. Every time new technology is introduced everyone gets scared that jobs go away. Over time the level of service and innovation requirements go up providing more jobs for those that adapt. Such as life. Don't make the world what its not. It most likely won't work. :-)
