The difference between Coordinated Universal Time UTC and the International Atomic Time TAI is :

from 2017 January 1, 0h UTC, until further notice : UTC-TAI = -37s

This means the atomic clock is behind the solar clock by 37 seconds? I also don’t understand the reference to 2017.

That's nice, but there's more to it:

However, the S&P Dow Jones Indices did “carve out one concession” by changing the investable weight factor rules for “lower-profile benchmarks” such as the S&P Total Market Index and Dow Jones US Total Stock Market Index, according to Quartz. That could allow an IPO faster entry into those indexes.

I think these total market indexes are used as benchmarks for US total market ETF's and funds?

I mean I don’t anyone thought this was in the US since the UI is not in English. Maybe it’s more of, this neat, wish we had it here?

This is the third point release for the 26 series. Aren’t these primarily bugfixes? Or does Apple use a different versioning system?

Most definitely marketing. It’s got the company name in it. I’m surprised other watch makers didn’t come up with their own time standards as gimmicks.

I think the points about code ownership and responsibility are spot on. Management wants you to increase velocity with these agents so inevitably there is pressure to ship crappy code. You then will be responsible for the code, not the AI. It’s the idea of being a reverse centaur.

I also like the comments on how developers should be frequently reading the entire code and not just the diffs. But again there is probably pressure to speed up and then that practice gets sacrificed.

AFAIK DMCA is such a strong law that you just have to circumvent any kind of access mechanism to violate it. I’m not a lawyer.

“No person shall circumvent a technological measure that effectively controls access to a work protected under this title.”

“to "circumvent a technological measure" means to descramble a scrambled work, to decrypt an encrypted work, or otherwise to avoid, bypass, remove, deactivate, or impair a technological measure, without the authority of the copyright owner;”

I’m not sure how modding works in the case but usually this is why companies can come after folks.

Or just delete the app and log in once a year or whenever you’re job seeking?

I will say I agree that the platform is mostly spam and has definitely gotten worse sense 2021 when the article was written. But you can just not log in everyday and still have a profile. Also no reason to put your birthday on a social network IMO and you can reject requests for connections if you don’t know someone.
