Hey everyone! I wanted to share what I’ve been working on lately: an app called Unlearn Stress [1] on iOS [2] and Android [3]. It came out of my own struggles with stress and trying to find ways to cope. Some days are just rough and while I’ve had some luck with doctors, I’ve found that stories, especially ones read in my own voice, and breathing exercises really help lift my mood. The app is simple, works completely offline and there’s no data collection like other apps.

My next idea is to use SSML to better control some of the speech and add delays where needed.

Tyrian's what gave me inspiration to create a space shooter on mobile! Some of the special weapons in my game are direct inspiration like the Plasma Storm and Soul of Zinglon. Granted my space shooter game isn't a scrolling space shooter though, someday I will try my shot at making one.

Hehe, I remember some people complaining about it. I never could hate SystemD once introduced to it as an infrastructure engineer. The difference was night and day in Debian (from wheezy to jessie).

Setting common sig handlers, restart on exit, etc. are just one-liners with unit files. In the previous one, SysV, it was an annoying incantation especially if you were a newbie, like me at the time, or product engineer who was dabbling. You could easily screw it up. Some non infra engineers cursed the SysV files and loved the SystemD unit files.

Now I use dynamic user and the other security features in my unit files and wonder how many lines it would have taken to do that in SysV, so the complaints are laughable at this point.

This is not a direct alternative to ElasticSearch. Tantivy is closer to an alternative to ElasticSearch since ES is built on top of Lucene. An alternative could be achieved if built on top of Tantivy.

Sonic here only returns document identifiers so you will never be able to get document information back. This is very useful though if all you want to do is index text data and then get the stored information from another data store.

All this confirms is that kids are unfocused and need someone to focus their attention. Remote learning requires you to take responsibility and takes getting used to. Parents generally aren't going to get involved in students learning, clearly, as this confirms.

Swift for Tensorflow, are you saying Tensorflow was deprecated? Far as I know, Tensorflow is alive and well, so this choice is hazy.

Any of these projects, except angular have the same visibility and impact Flutter has? You're trying very hard to deride Google Infrastructure and its your very generalization that weakens your claims that they should not be trusted. Anyway, I'm done with this thread as far as it goes.

You don't trust them, cool great, but don't make generalizations about what Google is doing because of your distrust.

Google has a lot of trust in its infrastructure projects. You assert they don't therefore don't use it and you have many Google front-end platform projects that serve as counter examples to your assertion. Angular being the most popular open source Google front-end project.

Like I said, you are welcome to distrust Google, but your general assertions are far fetched and stems from Google's product engineering that has to expand and contract its offerings as they are expected to make money unlike its open source projects.

Given he gives no examples of "Flutter as well "suffers from many bugs and problems" and given one is bound to use third party libraries, maybe he refers to third party libraries he chose being buggy. It is too general and very unclear what this means. Dart/Flutter has been a wonderful experience by far when it comes to cross platform libraries.

You don't need to trust Google, but it certainly don't mean making general statements about what Google is doing. The article says nothing about discouraging Flutter use and given Flutter 3 came out this year, Google is still supporting and using it. Flutter has iOS UI replication of look and feel, which is what that article says Google is encouraging. Fuschia hasn't come out yet, but it still uses Dart and Flutter is used to create apps on it.

I'll take a bet, use and choose Flutter for a long time.
