Not so much "permanently" as "indefinitely" really.
I kind of like this idea, but then instead of just left and right arrows I want to be able to travel in a multi-dimensional space :)
This webring isn't so much a ring as a wire, as one of the websites doesn't have the footer. This was always the problem with webrings in the first place - one broken link in the chain ruins it for everyone.
Just like token ring based LANs
YES
The website has been updated to resolve some of the animation issues - is it better now?
We are addressing some of the page rendering issues discussed in the comments below and hope to have them resolved soon. Sorry about that!
yes I was one of the authors of the report :)
We're planning on having official ARM binaries in the fall, so I expect ARM benchmarks will return in next year's report

it'd depend on WHERE I was going to run because the biggest factor at this point is network transport costs IMO. In the US, GCP has an advantage there because they charge the same for cross-region networking as they do cross availability zone networking, where AWS and Azure charge twice as much for cross region network. But if you're elsewhere, the prices are either flatter or more advantaged to one cloud provider or the other.
I was the lead author of the 2022 Cloud Report - AMA :)
not sure if this is working yet for Serverless but... https://www.cockroachlabs.com/docs/v21.1/migrate-from-mysql....
One of the first apps to migrate from CockroachDB Dedicated to Serverless is live now if someone wants to try it out. https://web.flightchop.com/dashboard - posting for a friend.
there are some great projects that present an http api for postgres that you could use with CRDB I think. I'm thinking of something like https://github.com/pramsey/pgsql-http
grampelberg has lost a lot of weight since last year's kubecon
