I designed a healthier men's dress shoe and was able to gain close to $100K in preorders in a Kickstarter this past September; https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/oaka/oaka-the-worlds-he.... Hopefully it doesn't stay a side project for too much longer, fingers crossed.

For a lot of people serious about the gym, they are way past just getting any workout in. They are very specific about what workout, what machine, what day of the week, etc.. Just switching to running is like telling some backend architecture programmer to just switch to Photoshop; to an outsider they're both tech on computers..But in the bubble we all know it's world's of difference.
The narrative you are suggesting is unequivocally false and has been for a while. While the black on black crime rate is at 89% the white on white crime rate is at 83%, not far off and receives very little relative attention.
In addition, according to the Bureau of Justice statistics, while blacks in the absolute cause 50% of the violent crime, when you control for income (white people have 10x the wealth) and location (rural, suburban, urban, etc) white people actually commit about 5% more violent crime i.e. poor urban white people commit more violent crime than poor urban black people.
People need to start understanding these facts, remove old narratives and realize there's more interesting things to focus on than race its self.
This would just be a recipe for increasing inequality among college goers. The families who can pay for the more expensive colleges will continue to do so, while you'd be taking away the opportunities for less privileged kids to go.
I believe the question, "Why college is so expensive" is the right one, but I don't think this is the right solution.
You can do this on Coinbase
You can get NADH (which is interchangeable with NAD) pills pretty easily on amazon for like $30. My question is what is the difference between those pills and the $50K substance/solution they came up with?
Not sure if you've been in a real full size fulfillment center before, but while both it and a Costco store look like a big box they are remarkably different and there's no way you could operate both under the same roof.
It deactivates completely when it's been away from your phone for a certain amount of time, which you can set in the settings.
Definitely disagree, there IS a difference between $10 - $20 Mil and $1 - $1.2 Bil
I can understand that, though the excitement and feeling of accomplishment more than makes up for cost and angst of possibly having done it wrong.
As one data point, I spent a while during college and took Turking seriously as a source of income and averaged about $7-$8 an hour over that time period. Not awesome, but not bad either for an always available, willing, form of employment.
This is interesting though this biggest problem is their seed groups are in the size of 1%-3% of the networks population. If you can affect that much of a large enough network, to constitute 'viral', in the first place then you probably don't need an algorithm like this anyway.
Finally someone posting a challenge they're undertaking when they have at least accomplished already some of it. I hate seeing people announce that they are about to do something. This is much much better.
Not sure this service lives up to such an awesome domain :/
Hulu's CPM's are incredibly high, on par with prime time TV. Not that many companies advertise on TV at those rates; even fewer do so online.
I'd be interested to know how many companies were started in each of those sectors and be able to see the "success" rate rather than just the absolute numbers.
Someone should make a new Amiestreet. The business model worked (dynamic pricing) and the company was acquired, then it went away...
Plenty of apps do; retail and real estate, just to name a few.
Yeah, though that's still controlled by Facebook, since you're actually paying them rather than some third party.
Pay for exposure already exists within the app store. Large companies pay around $10-$20K a day depending on the category on crap ad networks (won't name them) that incentivize the users to download the companies app in order to "get to the next level" or something like that. The downloads are incredibly cheap and you get thousands and thousands of them. The app store ranking is almost entirely based on download velocity, so your ranking goes up. Once you get in the top 12ish the organic downloads start pouring in just from being near the top. The value per user of those organic users is so high that it more than off sets the cost for the crap/incentivized downloads. Almost everyone who can do this, does this.
Agreed, it's much more easy for Burbn, in 4th, 5th, 6th? place to say, hey let's try and pivot a bit rather than fight for first in this arena.
Here is an example of our emails, http://cdn.splatf.com/w/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/fab-email..., it is from a while ago but the layout is the same. As you can see we are a very visual company. The emails mirror the site so you can use that as a reference too. Again very visual and "not easily replaced".
Hey, on the marketing team at Fab. Yes, we use Sailthru and thus can track which emails users open over a given period of time. Sailthru has a decent api however this operation was actually done manually with a bulk pull of data from Sailthru and then a query to the database on our end. In the future we'll probably automate this, though for right now our dev cycles are too precious :)
Hey, on the marketing team at Fab. We know that a lot of people love to purely just open our emails because they are pretty visual and there is a huge part of discovery; they might not always see something they like and thus click. We thought the risk of opting out these people outweighed the risk of accidentally leaving in people with clients like Apple Mail.
Hey, on the marketing team at Fab. Honestly for us we never really considered the cost savings or have had to worry about being blacklisted. The decision wasn't almost entirely jump-started by anecdotal evidence from customer service that it would be a good idea. Obviously there are plenty of financial and operational reasons to do this, but ultimately if it's good for the customer then it's good for us and the brand.
Hey, I'm on the marketing team at Fab. We figured for us this would be an edge case since our emails are made up almost entirely of images.
Hey, I'm on the marketing team at Fab. We send our email through Sailthru. Like most email providers tracking is done through image pixels. So we're able to pull data on which users have not opened certain emails over a given time period.
Why not try priceonomics they're pretty good for that. With that said nice app!
The first rule of Silk Road is you don't talk about the packaging...or post pictures of it...
Cool, I'll definitely use this, though it does not support landscape attachments. I need to be able to rotate the signature. Thanks.
