I heard something related to this recently. The development of synthetic rubber meant we did not need to control regions with rubber plantation. This was mentioned in association with World War II. Another interesting point discussed was that in order to send secure communication by wire you had to control the land the wire traversed to prevent disruption of the communication. The invention of wireless communication meant that you only had to control the terminals of the communication.
The licensing of DVDs versus Streams seems to be out of wack. How is it that Netflix can license so many more movies to distribute through their DVD service than they are able to license to distribute through their Stream service?
If this guy is guilty of DUI, what does this say about the future of autonomous vehicles? While I expect autopilot is less sophisticated than autonomous vehicles, he wasn't given the opportunity to violate the "sophistication" of autopilot. I expect his vehicle would have remained under control of the autopilot on the freeway until he woke and disabled autopilot. He may then have been legally DUI, but if we trust autopilot, then he wasn't DUI at the time the police disrupted the autopilot.
Haven't read the book, but there was definitely something off about the Netflix series. It was good and worth watching. While Samin is a wonderful, jolly personality and a large brained chef, she is not interesting enough to carry the series.
One thing I wish was configurable is how the ominbar now shows both titles and links. I navigate by link and would like to disable the presentation of titles.
