Supposed "developer-first" companies like Stripe & Github not enabling IPv6 access to their APIs is preventing progress

Policy interest rates have wide reaching impacts across society, sometimes second and third order effects that can be hard to predict. Generally though, increasing interest rates encourages more saving instead of borrowing. Less borrowing means less aggregate spending. The overall effect is that people buy less stuff (lower demand). This lowers prices if the supply stays the same.

Why should you care about being likeable? It’s a valid question. In reality, this isn’t just a vanity metric or something to make you feel good. Likeable people make more money, live longer, have more opportunities, and have more success in their love lives.. Everything has to do with human relationships at a certain point, so it’s really worth investing some effort in improving your likeability.

There’s a ton of reasons why becoming a consultant might work for you. One of the great things about starting your own consulting business is that it doesn’t require a big outlay of cash. Starting a consulting business can be accomplished fairly simply by finding businesses that need help with a specific challenge and offering them your help solving that problem.

That said, simple definitely doesn’t mean easy. I struggled for a long time to get clients and communicate my value. In this post, I wanted to share some of the lessons I learned so that some of you don't have to make the same mistakes. Consulting is a different game in 2020.

It’s crucial that developing countries expand their energy infrastructure in a sustainable way.

Pretty much everything else hinges on it.

Around 118 million people gain access to electricity each year. If we don’t ensure that clean energy is the default choice for them, we risk jeopardizing all the work that has been done to date.

Author here, I'd love to hear your ideas for how to build the energy infrastructure the right way in developing economies!

Paradoxically, the way to help create solutions to the climate crisis is... the same way we got into this mess - by following the money.

Most people realize that we all need to create impactful solutions to the urgent environmental situation. An obvious reason why this isn’t the case already is because environmental and economic incentives don’t point the same way.

EVs themselves are ready, the infrastructure is still a limiting factor. We need to keep working until range anxiety isn't an issue

Basically yes, it is extremely geographically dependent

Honestly it provides a huge amount of the base load in Ontario (~60%) and for most intents and purposes is clean. Debatable if we'd be able to get new reactors built today but I'm glad it exists

The true energy solution to climate change will need to be a mix of wind, solar, nuclear, storage, and more. No one generation method will solve all of our issues. We need to start being more technology agnostic
