They already own this market – wearable computers – with the Apple Watch.
The tires literally are custom for the RadWagon 4. It uses 22" wheels and tires, which is a non-standard size. You can't buy 22" tires from anyone except Vee Tire Co, which makes them specifically for Rad Power Bikes.
I believe this video is slowed down, meaning the music was “playing” faster when they filmed the video, and the robots were dancing faster in real life.
Why do this? It smooths out motion.
The “dog” jumping with too much hang time would be explained by this.
This was sometimes done in 90s music videos. See the first 20 seconds of the Beastie Boys “So What’Cha Want” video: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ru3gH27Fn6E In that video, I believe the Beastie Boys were lip syncing to a much faster version of the song, then the video was slowed down so it matched the normal tempo of So “What’Cha Want”. (Another example is Len’s “Steal My Sunshine” video.)
I think the same thing was done in the Boston Dynamics dancing video. I haven’t measured the hang time of that dog, but it doesn’t look like it’s in Earth’s gravity.
This is another example of how hard it is to make a good user interface.
I don't think that the iPhone 2.0 software had "many similar problems." It had some minor ones, but nothing like what Mr. Pogue described in this article.
I have not used a Blackberry Storm, but it the article makes it clear that there are a number of fundamental problems with the user interface.
There were a few hickups, crashing, etc. with the iPhone 2.0 software, but nothing significant has changed about the UI design (only the underlying system).
