First one to use oud was Balenciaga PH. M7, AFAIK, used the synthetic oud captive. Not the real deal. Definitely the reissue (square bottle) did.

It is a hit or miss for me. But with TopJohnWu gone to google I wonder how long will Magisk last.

Have been on Cynogen/Lineage since 2012. Love the idea and the philosophy. Recently have been coming across safetynet issue. Will 19 address that? Also wondering what is the future of AOSP development, now that big companies are poaching developers (and effectively killing good projects like Magisk)

True. Correlations are not modeled in here. And the fact is once shit hits the fan all correlation converge to 1. This is not a tool for helping you with that. All it does is tells you - don't put more than x% in this stock. It answers a very specific question --- I like XYZ, how much should I buy?

Ha yes. We had same reaction. But it is what the market is pricing probabilities at. And if you see the returns market has been right so far. We are also skeptical. But numbers don't lie. I think it is a good way to size how much to buy if you really want to buy GME. Don't put all your money in but limit it to 10% as Kelly suggests

Remember using it a lot in mid 2000s. On iPod Mini and the HP Player. Also Sansa. IIRC , on iPod it let you play more codecs and then there were a few games thrown in. Loved it and that is what switched on my "change the native firmware" mode. Before this I did not know it could be done. I also realized how OEM hobble the hardware with restrictive firmware. Now I try not to buy Hardware (phones, routers etc) that can't be flashed with custom firmware.

Was not that bad when I was growing up. Sure there was pressure to become engineer/doctor but IIT was not be-all end-all. There was always DCE, REC. Have things changed that much in last 20 years?

I want to jump to Fi but is just super expensive for families. I have 4 lines. With Mint I can get unlimited talk, text and 2GB/per line for $15. So a family of 4 = $60. With Fi it would be $145. The difference is more than double. ATT offers 4 lines for $120 with 3GB per line. I remember when it was launched the price advantage was big. But since then the carriers came down and Fi did not (barring that $15 vs $20 per extra line thing)

The only advantage I see is the use of 3 networks(for those who live in places with bad coverage).

You are right a chemical is a chemical. It is just that the smell Orris (or any other smelling flower) is made up of hundreds of chemicals each with its own volatility profile. No one has been able to get it right even with modern spectrography tools. Now the real kicker is even with the actual rose (or any other flower) oil, you can't recreate the smell of fresh rose. There is the whole field of headspace analysis that tries to cover that.

I think it has more to do with demand. Ambergris can't be found in large quantities. This makes it useless for big houses like Chanel,Dior,Guerlains etc. The other thing is consistency. The commercial fragrances want their fragrance to smell the same every year. Something you cannot guarantee if you do not know what Ambergris will you stumble upon. These days Ambergris is used mostly by artisan perfumers.
