Am I missing something… why does this sound like eugenics with extra steps?

So it’s okay because he’s rich?
It already underwent some recent shrink flation. I used to be able buy 12oz bags but they’re 10oz now, consumers are getting shafted regardless :D
The website is absolutely awful to use on mobile, archived here for sanity: https://archive.is/qdSIr
fyi, the resume link is dead/inaccessible
Beyond a points its curiosity and pushing existing computational techniques to their limits. Sometimes it leads to new discoveries in computational techniques or in rarer cases new theoretical work.
Long story short, it’s fun to find out new things about weird numbers :)
Another joins the ranks of Chai Tea, Naan Bread, and Lake Michigan :D
The problem is also that the rate of, and ease of production of terrible content far outpaces good content. So it does matter that there’s loads of junk because finding something worthwhile gets hard very quickly.
There’s already regulation affecting SDLC practices in the financial industry (SSDF in the US, DORA in the EU).
Definitely not a stretch for other (“important”) areas to start receiving such attention in the future.
So far I’ve gotten to the end for a few colors. Quite fun, took my about 20-30 guesses!
Sure the customers decided, but what about their relatives? If any of my relatives uploaded their genetic info to this, it by extension has a huge part of my genetic info too, and my consent was decided without my knowlegde...
What I'm trying to say is: I don't think comparing it to equifax is reasonable in that regard.
I typically associate in-app video ads with C-tier mobile games that are a few steps removed from a click farm. None of those has a home on my device.
I’m glad and feel lucky to live in a city with good public transportation, guess I can go back to the old call restaurant and pickup order method in peace now.
It also seems that they are planning on adding tablets to the cars to play ads? We’ve come full circle to taxis…
What good is a treatment if you can’t access it? If you’re poor enough even food poisoning is “untreatable”.
Best summarized by this quote from a coworker: “AIX is what you’d get if aliens implemented a UNIX.”
Utilities exist, but they tend to be different.
There’s also oddities like the compiler (xlC) emitting code that is able to dereference null pointers, with the zero page. It’s a valid but odd choice of undefined behavior. [1]
That’s an average dachshund
Certainly, but without knowing the workload that was used for the benchmark it’s a meaningless marketing number.
up to 4x
Thats not a minimum performance guarantee. They’re talking about an upper bound. It’s possible that the 4x is some niche benchmark.
Perhaps the title could be better worded as:
“New insights into cell death brought on by Sepsis”
I’d bet that’s unlikely. A lot of if Rail’s power comes from the meta progamming (convention over configuration, was it?) which would be needlessly hard in extension land.
Extensions shine brightest on CPU bound workloads by doing away with a lot of the intermediate Object allocs/frees. The gains tend to not be worth the investment in IO bound settings.
This doesn’t mean Rails won’t benefit from extensions.
Python's type hints are undecidable. You cannot know, without evaluating the type-level program if it will halt.
The only way around this would be to set a recursion depth, which changes the semantics.
I lost some clothes, sneakers in a duffel bag on my first ride with LIRR from NY Penn. Nothing valuable, but certainly essential. Was told off by the on-duty person to either show them a picture of the bag & items or get new ones lol.
Some of you mention dislikes help you decide what to watch,” said YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki. “But dislikes were never shown to people on the homepage, search results, up next screen, where users were most likely to choose a video
Well I click the video and back out as soon as I see dislikes approachung likes in quantity.
Was that really so hard to come up with for said CEO?
Metastability and local maximums are the same.
Bits tend to get squashed moving through bends right? Centrifugal force and all that

But what if one of the arguments is a function call? Then it isn't easy to prove there are no side effects

What's the next iteration, hypercube?
I’ve had great success with using fish-shell [0] as an introductory material. It is really beginner friendly, has a sane scripting language.
I think you're overthinking. I had the same fear when I first started going to the gym.
So far my experience has been really positive, I find it hard to put myself in such situations as long as:
1. Always start with low weight and try to check if you're "feeling" the right part of your body, sort of like a form + mind-muscle connection check
2. If you plan exceed a previous maximum, try to
2.1. Do that with someone around you, or
2.2. Do it in really small increments
Ah! I'm glad my density was useful for once.
Regardless, lesson learned.
