Except that slavery is not historically tied to one race only and frankly, it's a bit racist to imply that it is.

Do you have any source or proof that the wealthy pay a disproportionate amount of taxes compared to the rest of us?
Whether that value is real or whether that value was created just by the founders is something that needs to be discussed.
I'd agree with you, but the killer feature digital notes have, for me, is the quick and effortless searching.
Both London and Zurich are extremely expensive.
The explanation is wrong though. The employer pays you a fraction of the value your labor produces for them. Being enjoyable or not has nothing to do with it. You'd get paid for doing a valuable thing you could enjoy doing the same way nobody is going to pay you for doing something you don't enjoy that has no value for anyone.
Serious question: why not use github pages to run your static website?
If the work is being done, why does the employer need to know more than what is absolutely necessary?
Because most first-world ubermensch spend filling and productive days doing menial tasks for a living wage. I'm surprised how prejudicial and borderline racist comments like this are upvoted here.
Vegans and vegetarians live without consuming meat. There's plenty of plant substitutes for the nutrients we get from meat (nuts, mushrooms, soy and so on).
simply take out loans
So not only are they not getting paid now, but they should also pay loan interests once their pay goes in.
In fact, "Balkans" in particular is an extremely ambiguous linguistic term and can mean so many different things to so many people.
Not really, Balkan countries are well-defined and have been so for over a century now. It's basically European countries that were under the Ottoman Empire:
Greece, Albania, North Macedonia, Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, Kosovo, Montenegro, Croatia, Bosnia. One could also throw Slovenia in there but historically speaking, they have always been pretty different from other Balkan-folk.
The right to free speech protects you from being persecuted by the government. Patreon and any other private company reserve the right to choose their customers (and workers) based on what they say. This has always been the case. There are countless examples, even in the past, where companies have fired employees for saying things they shouldn't have.

Because business is interested only in maximizing profit and government is (supposed to be) interested in protecting the rights of its citizens.
They give many (all?) alternatives. It's up to the writer to pick the word they want and usually inexperienced writers will pick a complicated word that makes them seem clever.

If there is an incentive to get to know who a individual person has voted for, then it would be with all parties.
Buying votes is a thing. If it's easy to verify that you voted for X party then it's very easy to sell your vote.
Open Source software, which can be verified by everyone.
What makes you think that the open source software you verified is the software actually loaded on the machine you are using to vote. What about the software on the machine that counts the votes?
Voting via an app with authentication as good as or through your bank account.
What about voter secrecy? Logging in and then voting defeats the purpose of voting.
After Voting, We should be able to query and verify who our vote is with - on a particular day of counting, and get whole history of our votes. An individual persons vote is append only.
If you can query to find your vote then anyone else can. Do you want everyone to know who you voted for?
Fallen and stayed*. Andalusia too was part of the muslim caliphate and yet....
Even a non-humanities major can be reduced to reading 20 (technical) books at your own leisure.

People who say stuff like this are usually people who have never set foot outside the US.
There's tons of great TV shows nowadays. Mentioning Grey's anatomy and Glee does a disservice to TV.
Besides the obvious Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad there's Stranger things, Black Mirror, Westworld, just to name a few. Hell, all of the above are much much better than 90% of the crappy Marvel/superhero/blockbuster movie Hollywood keeps spewing nowadays.
I didn't misinterpret it, but even in the article it's mentioned that China's most popular sport is Football. So it's the same as in Brazil in that respect.
Cricket is not the most popular sport of those countries. Football is.
So it's business as usual for Microsoft. Unsurprising.
They probably meant the Cold War.
