in regards to misplaced frustration and angst, pretty much, tech is mostly filled with frustrated, unattractive (physical and personality wise) middle aged men, who believe that the only way to find a mate is to swallow this liberal agenda so as to make themselves appear as more of a 'nice guy', and thus in their twisted little heads, becoming more attractive to members of the opposite sex. Typical beta mentality.

edit: actually, I should say that tech is not actually like this, its mainly the illusion that reddit and HN present.

Employee Equity 12 years ago

I worked at a startup, was employee number 4, and the 2nd lead developer after the CTO, I got offered a pathetic 0.025% over 4 years. Options like that are disheartening and really don't make you want to stick around for 4 years getting paid dirt to eventually be able to claim your $20k worth of options.

I left and now am getting paid close to triple my old salary with options getting close to 10% in a business model that is far more profitable than the previous. I think lots of people just starting out in the startup scene get taken advantage of and taken for a ride.

who cares. maybe if '3rd world' devs actually produced better code and contributed to community (more than just joining IRC, asking for help, then leaving without saying thanks), they might be able to make a better name for themselves and in turn be able to bargain for better conditions.

"The Aegis BMD system is the linchpin of the Obama administration's plan for a missile defense umbrella in Europe intended to protect U.S. forces and NATO allies from Iranian short- and medium-range ballistic missiles."

Do your homework. (although I did mislabel the missile system, its aegis, not patriot that are being used here)

I certainly hope you were never on any debating team with arguments like those.

Of course the people of Ukraine have visions and dreams about their future. What you are seeing in this video though, or on any western media (and eastern media for that matter) is not indicative of what the Ukrainian people actually want. Jumping onto either bandwagon only because of what you read in your twitter feed is just stupid.
