I've been moving around AI and frontier tech for a decade. Starting as PhD Dropout when AI isn't hot, I become a nomad traveling to many different countries to upgrade skills and knowledge. This includes San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Montreal, Paris, Berlin, Lausanne, Singapore, Jakarta, etc. When the pandemic happens, I become a human writer and catch early move of LLMs as a user.

I was an early user of chatGPT and met Sam Altman. Also many more LLMs like Claude, Gemini, etc.

Now, I am working on GenAI safety and security, i.e. Agent, Agentic AI, LLMs, etc. Check out my latest post and more: https://securedgenai.substack.com/p/review-agent-security

Outside work, I recycle garbage and plant trees. I also enjoy traveling and learn from the local every where I visit.

There is a global outage this morning starting from 8:00 AM. This list has Google, Tiktok, Zoom, Slack and of course FB products and services.

Not only facebook, but also Google, Zoom, Telegram, Youtube and many more internet service/ product/ providers from 8:00 AM today. This is more like internet outage.

I was shocked to see this language popped up as a web framework. Before this, it was something belonged to a computational science lab with a BIG project in 1990s.

Better tools do not make people be better. Just have a task done faster. The best hacker/ dev I know can code without an IDE. They only need a plain text editor and can tell how wrong the terminal is without Google.

You might want to look at Simplex to describe better and more rigorously. Simplex is the most basic structure to describe a space in n-dimension.

0-simplex: a point.

1-simplex: a segment (points and lines)

2-simplex: a rectangle (points, lines, and surfaces)

3-simplex: a tedrahedron (points, lines, surface and a 3D space that most of human can comprehend visually)

4-simplex: everything above and the whole combination of these element in algebra.

This is how mathematician and physicists solve problems. Time is a separate element in our equations that why we often talk space-time, not just space

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simplex

If we assume the world is a cube, I would think of 4D as a several projections of 3D cubes in another 3D cube. For higher dimension, I find myself in algebraic topology. This is really tortuous to think of these concepts.

PG also has an article about this -- tl;dr. it is about pure creativity, imagination and experiments.

Crypto in general and Bitcoin specifically are super volatile or other words, unstable. To many people, this means many different things.

For me, I am anti-crypto:

* Seen many bad examples of abuse, e.g. MLMs, scams, laundering, cyber crimes, etc.

* Bad impression with early users. Most are driven by greed with vanity more than productivity or strong values.

* Wasting so much energy for "copy and paste" with no real use case. This hurts environment a lot.

I agree - at least from my a bag of data points I have. Unfortunately, the common perception is extroverts. This happens when people just read news and consume media without real experience.

Yes, there is a lot - A few options are

* Heroku -> Best choice for backend dev;

* Vercel -> Best choice for React/ NextJS dev;

* Digital Ocean -> Best for all small product;

* Netlify -> Best for Jamstack;

* Github -> Best choice for Portfolio of Dev.

Many domain hosting also has a web hosting service. Their offers are lucrative compared to AWS/ GCP/ Azure.

Too bias - This statement is over-generalized and exaggerated. You can share observations, but to extract what is underlying - it needs a backup data. During a pandemic, most big tech let their employee work from home.

WFH means that you are able to get tasks done by yourself with lots of autonomy. IMHO

It's a common startup problem. I have no doubt. Most of startup suck, honestly. However, there is a few reason why a few thrive. You might want to check:

* Why would you join a startup? Wealth? Opportunity? Or some deep meanings.

* Which stage is it? The earlier it is, the worsen a company is managed. In your case, a late stage company still in a turmoil is a huge question mark.

* For startups, it's always better with showcase than a promise. If I were you, I would take a reference that matched to the first bullet.

Immersed in the physical world. However, it is not the best option now. You might want to write or play some thing new. Language, Music, Art, Math, etc. This used to work for me though I look very un-fancy on the internet.
