While I'm definitely not willing to put myself through any of his books after 9/11, I haven't stopped recommending Vanni Fucci as an introduction to Dan Simmons.

Not a catholic but I kept a tab on the process because the Catholic church seemed to lean towards a very conservative candidate and i was interested to see how it pans out. Turns out we have an American Pope and he wasn't even a top contender.
I'm really disappointed that Notion acquired and killed a far better product (Skiff) just to release what is essentially an overdressed Gmail client.
There's no decent selling point over other competitors in the industry and Notion just missed the chance to tie customers into a alternative workspace suite.

Ha I'm surprised no one mentioned one of the most common name maltreatment complaints. The Gaelic patronymic prefix Mc/Mac.
When treating Mc/Mac names, the first letter after the prefix is always capitalised.. e.g McDonald's, McCarthy, McCain, McCoy, McConnell etc but you're more likely to see mcdonalds, mccoy, mcconnell.
Orthographic case preservation reports were like the biggest complaints that no one was interested in fixing during a short stint in the airline industry.
That and hyphenated names.

Has it occurred to you that the people who feel rage fundamentally misunderstand the situation and are completely undereducated in this area, and are only fuelled by sensationalism and Media manipulation? Lawyers are humans too. I know a bunch of oldies who still don't use a spell checker or anything. They just eyeball it or have associates do it. If you make typos, you fix them on subsequent revisions. If not, too bad.

Fancy seeing a full-blown mobile Postgres editor. I can definitely see a few use cases but I'm curious whether your average Db admin or data engineer will be interested in using a tool like this.
Teach Yourself Computer Science[0] is a great resource, but if you have ADHD or focus issues, the CS Primer[1] (by the same curator) might suit you better. Puck was being malicious in releasing the information. There's no favourable way of describing disclosing a vulnerability on social media because the maintainers didn't meet your 7 day deadline.
It's more of "we're forcing their hands since they haven't met our expectations yet" thing.
There's so many ways they could've gotten a timely fix without "doing everyone a favour by not fully disclosing the entire 0 day." approach but like you said .... tough cookies all round.

This is a very poor take.
The security team is composed of unpaid volunteers who work on numerous time-sensitive projects simultaneously. You may not be aware, but since a group of maintainers and contributors left earlier this year to form their own fork called "Lix," there have been many vacant positions across several Nix teams.
They actually held a meeting about the security issue earlier in the day before the disclosure and had reached out to the reporter(0).
The sense of entitlement here is pretty much rank because any animosity between the Lix team and Nix teams going forward will only be to the detriment of the Lix team. Everyone's really tight at the moment and no one is paid for this much drama every couple of months.
